A general warning to all Australians who are used to the standard of Travel Lodge in their country- these aren’t like them at all ! Think dodgy boarding house or bad youth hostel with little cleaning and lots of noise. Both St Austell and Bath Central are in need of repair in terms of window locks, torn off pieces of laminate, filthy carpets and a good clean in the vanity basins and around every door handle. A sign at each hotel entrance would be great telling the abundance of smokers to move 10 meters away so the hotels don’t smell so much. It was hideous walking past and then finding the lifts stank of smoke too. Note to staff- check soap dispensers and don’t water the soap down- thank you. Note to management, get a grip! Yes, we were offered another room but couldn’t stand another night there so checked out and lost our money. Just don’t go there!
