Spring Hill Mews Apartments

The shower continually dribbled, some lights didn’t work, kitchen dirty, Position was OK (near my medical appointment), but hilly. Everything needs a good makeover. Don’t go if you have a heavy suitcase, it’s on the side of a hill and apartments have stairs.

Excellent position- especially for day surgery at St Andrews, very short walk. However, lots of small maintenance issues. Both the bed and the only couch very saggy, needs replacing. Trip hazard with raw broken metal sticking out from under the couch, which we assume was a part of a pull out bed. Dirty shower- clearly not cleaned as evidenced by dirty glass shelf which still had the previous occupants soap on it and mould growing separate to that which was growing in the silicon, could easily be wiped away. The towel rail kept falling down, and when grabbing a glass from the kitchen shelf met with a very sticky substance on the shelf itself. Clearly the place was not properly cleaned after the previous tenant/s. It's a real shame because the location is very good, we were just left with sore backs and a general feeling of distinct lack of cleanliness. I also got a reply to my booking-in process two days after I enquired (and the day after we booked in!) - which would have made booking in on a Sunday afternoon infinitely easier, especially as we wouldn't have had to stand in the sweltering hot sun waiting on finding some way of getting in to reception to check in. Needs updating and more attention to basic courtesies.

Sadly disappointing. Cleanliness poor - bathroom mould like I’ve not seen before including in grout. In desperate need of a good scrub and cleaning products. Oven had a dirty greasy tray left in it. Advertised as serviced apartments - but, seriously lacked service - had to take all rubbish out on check out, provided very little, and really had no service. Three units booked and ended up at different ends of complex and all very different layouts, condition and cleanliness. This property has great gardens and landscaping. But that is the only thing I can say that is positive about this this property. I arrived at 4pm reception is supposed to be until 5 pm but nobody was on site upon arrival. The room had imprints in the carpet from an iron, mould, the Air Con did not work and the couch/sofa looked like t was purchased from a sex club with stains all over it. i refused to sit on it without first getting a sheet to cover it (this only took an hour to get). I had planned a 3 night visit but will be checking out after only 1 as it is so disgusting I feel like I am being bitten by bugs. The property has lots of stairs not mentioned on the websites so if you have any mobility issues its not for you. The pictures shown on booking sites are presumably from a few rooms that may have been renovated. But my experience is that it was furnished from hard rubbish. Avoid staying here as far as you can as I expect better from a back packers venue rather than this which claims to be a 4 star rating, maybe 2 stars at best.
