The New Hobbit Hotel

Absolutely amazing place to stay!! Staff were lovely and welcoming, location on a beautiful hilltop with a full view of the beautiful Halifax. Would totally recommend if you’re looking for a cosy country vibe

Rooms where very cold,a small electric portable heater was in our room,mattress was very uncomfortable,food was very average.

We stayed here for one night last Saturday. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and fully equipped. It had a large and powerful double shower in a tasteful bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and to say that all of the rooms were taken, we had a very quiet night. Great location and a great price. We'll certainly be back.

We stayed here for a couple nights. Based ourselves here as we wanted to explore the area. Our room was big and spotlessly clean. Had tea, coffee , pastries room. Very concise easy to use instructions to get the key from key box. Big car park. Useful area information in the room. The weather wasn’t nice for us so will definitely be returning in the coming weeks as weather improves. In all a great stay at a great place and great value for money.

Great rooms. We had a double which was small but cosy. We were texted three hours early when room was ready. The staff were around cleaning and were very pleasant and helpful. Communication was great. The bar is currently not used and not part of the experience but then that is explained in the welcome communication

Beautiful room with everything you could need. Furnished to high standard. Great bathroom with walk in shower. Balcony with great views. Comfortable bed. Couldn't fault it. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were closed for our stay but we were advised of this when booking. Would definitely stay here again.

Such a lovely place to stay, a proper gem of a find. Lyndsey was so helpful, the room was decorated beautifully and the views are stunning! Would definitely come back for another stay, and such a convenient location.

Fantastic from start to finish, we booked 3 rooms for the weekend, lovely and clean, plenty of character, lovely continental and cooked breakfast, Saturday night was table service, everything was amazing, Sundays breakfast was hot and cold buffet style breakfast all staff from manager to cleaners were very pleasant and helpful. Lots of parking. highly recommended.

Not what we were expecting, was more a wedding/events venue than a country pub. It was out the way so on a rainy evening there wasn't any where else to go for a meal which was substandard, not fresh but made up & reheated & was expensive for what it was. On the evening we were the only ones in the "bar area" so felt we couldn't talk as the music was low & staff member could everything we said. The room we were given was not what we paid for from the description in the website, the same for another guest who arrived just after us, the woman on reception was very short & rude with us when this was pointed out, wouldn't mind so much if you paid the same for all the rooms but we paid more for this type of room, to make matters worse, there was used towels in our room that no-one could collect til the next day! customer service was below par from the lady on reception. We also found our room stank of wet dogs for a few hours after using the shower. The lady who took breakfast orders, was brilliant, so in control & explained the procedure for the morning as it varied the 2 mornings we has there, was very quick & efficient, could not fault her. I wouldn't stop again, it sells itself as something it's not. They had a wedding the 2nd night we were there, we just got back from a gig expecting to have a drink in the bar, even the wedding party finished earlier than expected after speaking to some of them, so straight to bed it was.
