San Lameer Resort Hotel & Spa

There isn't much for luxury in the area and San Lameer may be the best out of the available options...and that's not saying much. The estate has good facilities for familes with young children. An easily accessible and good swimming beach, two big pools (one with slides which our child enjoyed), close proximity to the Wild Coast Sun and their Water Park and an on-site restaurant with really good meals. The hotel room itself was nothing to write home about. Smallish with basic finishes. A TV that never seemed to get a clear picture, WIFI that worked about 5% of the time and disinterested front office staff. I decided to extend our stay by an extra day and on enquiring with the reception staff I was informed that the hotel was fully booked. So I promptly went online to the hotels own website and found no less than five available rooms and duly booked one. A truly bizarre interaction. On the whole, not great but decent. Not 4 star by any means but a 2.5 - 3 star essentially.

About the best place in the area to stay. Unfortunately a little run down. Had bad experience with blocked drains and flooding in the bathrooms. Below average service at the restaurant. Definitely a 2-3 Star establishment in my view out of 5.

Booked a weekend at San Lameer Hotel for our 33rd wedding anniversary. Initial room aircon did not work but we were given a fan for the night.Appreciated that we were moved to another room the next day. Rooms were clean..wifi not so gud reception. Overall haf a wonderful stay.our second time at San Lameer Hotel and Spa.

San Lameer hosted a group of 17 executives on a 3-day golf tour. The feedback was very positive, the golf course is in a great condition and the group had an amazing time.

So we were were a little disappointed by San Lameer. The security to enter and exit made me wonder if politicians were negotiating major trade deals or controversial war ceasefires. Whilst I do understand the need for good security it seemed a bit over the top. Back show a room was in a dingy section of the hotel 201 and whilst we had a good view the furniture in the room was tired and everything seemed to me to suggest it needed somebody with a good eye to give it some upgrades which would probably not have cost much money. We had two televisions but one of them was permanently blue tinged. We had breakfast and although the staff were unusually busy it appeared that they were not prepared and a bit over it, particularly the egg station. The omelets were very good though. Afterwards I had a swim and the pool water was like milk. You could not see your hand as you were swimming and for lap swimmers you kept having to look up for fear of running into the end of the pool and ending up with big dental bills. There could have been bodies on the bottom of the pool and you would not have seen them. I mentioned this in reception and they did not seem to understand the issue which apart from being unpleasant was a genuine safety issue as the pool deep end is 1.8 m. We had some issues that morning leaving on time as the checkout is early at 10:00 a.m. and I asked for an extension and they said 10: 30 and then we received a phone call at approximately 10: 55 (our bad) saying we had overstayed our welcome. Thanks though for allowing us the extra time.
