Fabulous Sunday roast!! We managed to squeeze in last minute on Sunday and what a great decision. The roast beef was of the highest quality with perfect roast potatoes Yorkshire pudding vegetables and gravy. Absolutely loved it. Delicious crumble for dessert all washed down with a couple of glasses of excellent Malbec. Can’t recommend The Fox highly enough - lovely pub great food and friendly locals!! Perfect.

We stayed here for the night, really friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Pub is clearly very popular with locals but we enjoyed the well cooked food. Room basic but clean and quiet. Minor quibbles would be to have a different lager on draught and baked beans for breakfast! Thank you.

Always a fabulous experience at this country pub at the edge of the Cotswolds in North Oxfordshire. Johnny and Paul do a fantastic job as host/chef. The food is always excellent, in particular the Sunday roast. And the beer, which varies, is well-kept. We've been many times. All the staff are extremely nice and friendly.

Came to The Fox for lunch with friends, we chose the pub as it was central for all parties as we were coming from the East and our friends were arriving from the West and Souldern was in the middle!! What a lovely village of sandstone houses and at the centre sits the Fox. There is little parking at the pub, however, the adjacent road is safe and has little traffic. We booked a table and I am pleased we did as the place is very popular and I think we would have had trouble getting a table if we hadn’t booked. The menu is not excessive; however, the content is mouthwatering. All four of us had different courses ranging from the lamb, pork, burger and the chicken and bacon salad. There were no complaints and the food was freshly prepared, well presented and tasty. The pub has a really nice ambiance and is bright and airy. The host is very approachable, social and keeps a fine hostelry with good hospitality. I would fully recommend the Fox and if you are in the area, give it a try.

Excellent lunch, shame the barmaid/waitress neglected to mention the specials board when giving us the menus, luckily I spotted it just having only just ordered so I could change my order ….. couldn’t fault the stroganoff, absolutely delicious, thank you. Had to ask her if we could have some coffee and again had to ask for the bill, no one likes to be rushed, but……..

Very friendly staff. Comfy bedroom if a little small. Dinner good. Excellent atmosphere. Pretty village. We stayed here after visiting Waddesdon Manor and were en route to Cheshire. We enjoyed a stroll round the pretty village the next day before moving on.
