Stayed at this no.1 Guesthouse in Somerset-West already a couple of times before. From the very 1st warm welcome by Richard we had an amazing time and stay. This time in the “Cape Vermeer suite”. In one word: WOW! What an amazing apartment/room with everything in it you are looking for. Very luxury equipped and large room with a lovely bed, a separate large bathroom with both shower and bath. A private balcony overlooking both Strand and the Hottentot-mountains. Very nice colors used like in the other rooms of this Guesthouse. Love your Lemon Verbena products from Healing Earth, such a fresh smell. It was the TOP location of our holidays in the Cape-region. We loved the breakfast with the short daily printed info (photo) with it. You deserve definitely your 5-star rating. Thank you Richard & Bart for again a wonderful stay at yours. Also to your very friendly staff. Patience is so proud of her Vermeer-meisje” broche Hope to stay at your beautiful Guesthouse again in the future.

A truly outstanding experience... with the highest attention to detail. Richard and his team were an absolute delight and made our stay a most memorable one. The rooms and gardens are exquisite... the breakfast baskets scrumptious... we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to South Africa. A++

This is our second time staying here. Being a German, everything must be "perfect" and "correct". But I couldn't find anything to fault at Richards place. It's just "perfect"! Very attentive and welcoming, from check-in, to during your stay and when you depart. Rooms are extremely Top Class. Breakfast is really amazing too! All of this makes it an amazing stay, literally makes you feel like you're VIP! Will be going again and again...

I’m used to travel a lot and this place is special in many ways. Perfect location, great accommodation, best service, friendly staff. And last but not least Richard, the owner, is doing a brilliant job. Helping with best bookings of restaurants and recommendations in every respect ; even with the direction the sun is moving .

Cape Vermeer is the best guesthouse we have visited so far in the Cape. The rooms are very neat and spacious. The breakfast is out of range with every day a special egg suggestion. The host Richard and his entire staff are very friendly and so helpfull. Don’t look any further, just book Cape Vermeer! Peter An Marie R from Belgium.

It's a beautiful house with a nice pool, and we had a spacious room. We love the breakfast, it's the best ever, and it also has a great view of the bay. The team is very attentive at all times, and Richard is the best host you can imagine. We can highly recommend Cape Vermeer there's really nothing to complain about.

This is our 5th time at Cape Vermeer and we will be back again and again! Richard and his team can't be beaten in terms of warmth. The accommodation is well maintained and a lot of attention is paid to detail. The breakfast is excellent and there is a different dish in the basket every day, all freshly prepared. We really enjoy the fact that this is a small hotel with just a few rooms, perfect for escaping the stress of everyday life. We already know almost all the rooms and have never been disappointed, everything is very clean and luxurious. You can enjoy the dream view and the peace and quiet! We've traveled to many countries around the world and got to know many accommodations, but Cape Vermeer is simply the best. We usually not return to the same places as we always want to try something new, but we can no longer imagine a trip to South Africa without Cape Vermeer. Once Cape Vermeer - always Cape Vermeer, five stars are really not enough!

We had a great relaxing time at Cape Vermeer Guesthouse. It‘s a very nice and clean place. Feels like home. Richard the owner is avery helpful with everything. He gave us a lot of great tips and also helped us with reservation in nice restaurants.

We found Cape Vermeer online and reviewed their excellent website before we booked. The booking experience was painless and our host, Richard, went above and beyond all expectations. He personally met us on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for him. He made our weeklong stay at Cape Vermeer exceptional. We wanted to stay in Somerset West so that we would be centrally located and Cape Vermeer is only 34 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. The directions we were given were explicit and the location up on high has breathtaking views. The room (perhaps Suite is a better description) was 5 star as were the daily breakfasts which you have to experience yourself to believe. When we return to the Cape we will definitely return to Cape Vermeer.
