A word of caution. My issue was resolved favourably but my advice is to check the reservation and ask the questions.
The ibis Birmingham Airport has 2 levels of accommodation at the same location.
I booked and paid for the Ibis through Trip. On arrival I was told the Trip had made my reservation in Ibis Budget. The concierge told me me there was nothing he could do. I would have to take it up with the booking agent, Trip.
I accepted the room ( I have stayed here before in ibis Budget, I knew what to expect. Perfectly adequate for an early morning departure.)
My disappointment was that I had booked and paid for the higher end accommodation on this occasion.
Needless to say, I contacted customer support services and after sometime and various explanations and photographs, my issue was understood. I chose to accept the compensation offered.

Stay was fine rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Great location for Birmingham Airport. But after I checked out I received notification from my bank to say they had charged me for the room on my bank card without my permission. I had already paid for the room in full via a third party prior to my arrival and the lady on reception confirmed this when I arrived! I have spoken and emailed numerous times and 5 days on I have still not received my refund from them. The hotel are blaming the third party! Very unhappy that I am having to chase them for an unauthorised charge to my bank account!!

Booked the ibis and got put into the ibis budget rooms which was not what we had booked. No help from ibis staff who checked their system and we had been out in the wrong room so signposted us to trip. No offer to pay a fee to change rooms just rebook and pay again. Trip who we booked with were not contactable. Be careful using third party booking sites as they charged for one thing and booked us something else. Won't use either ibis or trip again.

Hotel was clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. We booked it as we had an early flight from the airport, one issue was the taxis and cars constantly beeping their horns at around 3am which kept us awake, this is not the hotels fault but unsure if it was just a one off or if it’s always the same. Hotel really good for what we needed though, could have had a fridge to make it better.

Booked for an event at the NEC. Considering this is called the Ibis Airport - NEC, I expected it to be more centrally located between the airport and NEC, but it’s actually in the middle of the airport complex. I was under the impression this hotel had its own carpark but we couldn’t find it. Due to being in the middle of the airport, you’re also not able to stop to find your bearings due to “no stopping, £100 fine” signs everywhere. We did find an NCP carpark next door which was £56 for 24 hours, I’ve no idea if this is what’s meant when it says the hotel has parking available. We parked elsewhere and walked.
The hotel itself is mediocre, the bar is decent but the room aircon wasn’t working which wasn’t ideal given the time of year.
