Admiral Grand Hotel

We have just arrived back from a week long stay at the Admiral Grand Hotel celebrating our wedding anniversary. The hotel is excellent in pretty much all areas, rooms are serviced daily, decent size, air con is good…shower is excellent!! There are numerous pools indoor and outdoor door, the beach is pebbly with plenty of sun beds and fresh towels, no need to rush down in the morning to secure a bed as they were always available throughout the day. Breakfast was excellent and everything was cooked fresh and replenished constantly, dinner was a little hit or miss, lots of choices available and fresh also, we found some days the meat was a bit tough! We do feel they should have been offered water for free with your meal, it’s a 5 star hotel but no! you had to buy your water, on the whole no complaints. WiFi is excellent even on the beach. The downside for us, nothing to do with the hotel l might add was the location, seriously quiet at night and no entertainment to speak about anywhere! Small offerings of alternative bars & restaurants…and mean just a handful, one or two walks to the harbour, takes all of 10 minutes to do and that’s your evening strolling done. We took a boat ride from the harbour to Dubrovnik for the day €95 to the two of us, we also went again on public transport €4.10 each, Dubrovnik is worth a day out for sure but both days we went it was completely mobbed & including the harbour.. If sitting on a beach reading your book and dipping in and out the sea is your thing this location is perfect! If you want a little entertainment & options of bars & restaurants and evening strolls looking into of shops forget there’s non to speak off! In summary l’d definitely stay at the hotel again if it was in a entirely different location.

The Admiral Grand Hotel is situated in a peaceful and quiet location. The reception area, rooms, and outside areas are well-maintained with a modern feel. We stayed for 10 nights in August in a sea-facing room. Our room was clean and cool with a small balcony, though a separate shower would have been preferable. The hotel claims to be 5-star, but it is more like 4-star. There are small but irritating issues with the hotel's management. Reception greeting on arrival: This is the first hotel where we were not welcomed with a smile but with an abrupt “You can’t check-in until 3pm”. A better greeting could have been, “Hello and welcome. Your room is not ready yet, but please use the changing areas and concierge in the meantime.” Some re-training in customer service would be beneficial. No atmosphere: Unlike other hotels, there is no background music to create a mood. The Admiral has nothing. This is notwithstanding that the hotel does offer live music nights once a week and occasional piano sessions, which are welcome. However, the lack of background music at other times, especially around the pool areas in the evening, is strange and eerily quiet. One important point to make here is that during our stay, there was an unfortunate incident where two members of staff tragically lost their lives in a local road traffic incident. As a mark of respect, notices went up that all live music was cancelled that week. This was understandable and unrelated to my comments. Restaurant Coffee & Water: Our TUI rep informed us that the hotel charges for water and drinks in the restaurant. Not offering free tap water is ridiculous and a feeble attempt to make money, in our view. If they had instead provided free tap water but considered offering an attended pool/beach bar service, I am sure that they would make more money in that way. My final point is the restaurant coffee. It was the worst we have ever tasted. It was a thick, black sludge with no flavour. Ironically, the hotel does have a professional barista coffee machine in the bar that tastes like coffee. If only that could have been offered as an alternative, I would have paid for it. Thankfully, there is a nice coffee/ bar behind the hotel that serves nice coffee. This review may seem like a complaint, but everything else about the hotel was lovely.

This hotel deserves a 2 stars really, not 3.... For the 2 smiles I received through my stay from staff. We (30 of us) came with a tour of Croatia for 2 weeks. This was the last city we stayed at for 3 nights. Out of all the hotels (all 5 ⭐) this was the least favorite for most of us. The rudeness of the staff, specially in the restaurant and the bar really is something that they need to work on. I personally saw ONLY 2 smiles throughout my stay. One was the cleaning lady for our room and the other was the female manager that I saw on the 30th of Aug. To be barked at by the staff is the reason why most of us won't return to this hotel. The hotel was the most quiet out of all the other places we had stayed at. And the cheapest when it came to service. No conditioner, no lotion no complimentary water in the rooms!! When we asked for more coffee packs we were told only 1 pack per stay!! For the cream for the coffee, I had to go downstairs to the bar and pay .50 € for it. I couldn't even take the wine I payed for from my room fridge to the restaurant. NOT a friendly hotel to spend your vacation in. All it has is a nice view and clean room.

Me and my wife booked this hotel for a week last June and found it to be one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. If you like peace and quiet with no kids running around and can easily get a sun lounger and like reading books and chilling out this is ideal. The 2 x Pools were amazing and the half board breakfast and dinner was OK and no different to anywhere else we have been. We met loads of nice people on this holiday and found the staff very friendly and was very enjoyable. We wasnt bothered as we had nice walks to the harbour and found some really nice bars and the restaurants were amazing with those lovely large lagers. What makes me laugh is on any holiday no matter where you go you get the moaners,complainers and whingers!!!! People saying there's no kettle in the room (THEN BRING AND PACK A TRAVEL KETTLE THEN!!!) or people moaning there is no nightlife ( THEN GO TO IBIZA OR TENERIFE THEN!!!). We went to the lovely Dubrovnik old town on an easy excursion and it was fantastic not too many people and we had a lovely meal there and took loads of photographs and really made our holiday complete and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. On the way back we see some of the most amazing sunsets over the Adriatic Sea and mountains you will ever see!! We can categorically say this was one of the best holidays we have had, very relaxing with friendly staff also great people or couples we met on holiday and the beach was fantastic crystal clear sea with no waves and ideal for snorkelling and the weather was HOT!!! Ignore all those whingers who give 1 or 2 star reviews as there no way this hotel deserves that as they will most probably moan about anything!!! Overall 10/10 and enjoyed every moment !!!

I don’t usually write reviews, but this hotel truly deserves the recognition. My partner have just returned from a 12-night stay in Slano, and from the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel itself is stunning, the food is absolutely delicious, and the location is simply breathtaking. But what really sets this place apart is the staff—they are some of the kindest, most caring people we’ve ever met. Unfortunately, about a week into our stay, we were involved in a car accident and had to spend a few days in hospital. As soon as the hotel manager found out, she stepped in and supported us every step of the way. She brought us food and drinks, arranged our transfers once we were discharged, and even contacted our travel agents to help us navigate the medical bills. When we returned to the hotel, she made sure we were as comfortable as possible for the remainder of our stay. Even though the accident happened in Dubrovnik, the team at the hotel went above and beyond to care for us during such a difficult time. Their compassion and attentiveness made all the difference, and we are beyond grateful. This isn’t just a beautiful place to stay—it’s a place filled with genuinely good people who truly care. Thank you for everything.
