Scandic Skellefteå

Terrible! Standard room for 7 nights. Requested daily housekeeping but room was not serviced until we could not handle the crunchy floor anymore. No fresh towels for 3 consecutive days because the hotel ran out of towels. The reception had to cannibalize an unreserved room for towels after our unhappiness. No complimentary coffee/tea service. Our request for one came in the form of an empty kettle. We bought our own coffee, tea and cup from a local grocery store. Luckily I had my own water container. We also stayed in a standard room for the previous 7 nights in Scandic Continental, Stockholm.There are vast differences between both hotels. The rooms in Scandic Continental had body lotion, handwash, body soap, shampoo and conditioner wherelse in Scandic Skellefteå, there was only handwash, conditioner and a 2in1 combo of body wash that doubles as shampoo. FYI, it is standard NOT to have shower caps, toothbrush, shoe shine, sewing kits and etc in the rooms. Both rooms came with a set of body and hand towel for each guest. No facial towels provided. Both hotels had complimentary bicycles for use. Scandic Continental valued guest comfort by offering complimentary coffee/tea/fresh fruit flavored water/still water and fruit bowl in the reception area. Nothing of this nature was seen in Scandic Skellefteå other than water (if it is not broken). Scandic Continental’s room had air conditioning wherelse we roasted in Scandic Skellefteå until the weather cooled on the 6th day of our visit.

+ pretty good location, friendly staff, free outdoor parking, good breakfast, looks like there is AC - ridiculous 140cm bed for two adults, wake up to music from breakfast room, poor facilities in the room
