Full disclosure, I had wanted to book a different fishing lodge originally, but after some research and looking into available dates, I booked with Cascade Creek Lodge. It was a great choice. The Kraft family have been running this lodge since around 2016(?) and they have perfected the Alaskan fishing experience. The rooms , all newly renovated, with a private balcony over looking Mt Edgecomb let you get lulled to sleep by the sound of the Pacific lapping against the shore right outside your window. The view is second to none. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms have all the amenities and more, that one could ask for from a fishing lodge. Labeling Cascade Creek a fishing lodge, seems to be doing it an injustice, the food served to the guests is outstanding. Kristie, who prepared all the meals has an amazing palette, and she has perfected her signature dishes served at the lodge.I was a little worried about a lack of choice, but after the first couple of meals, I enjoyed not having to think about what I was going to have because everything was great. The spruce tip Creme Brulee was one of my favorites. The fishing blew away all of my expectations. My party fished with Captain Nathan and his mate Dillon(Sandwich King). They had us on the fish at all times, and could not have been more attentive and helpful. I have been fishing more many years, but if it will be your first time out with them, they will have you catching fish like a pro in no time. I just finished putting away over a hundred pounds of fillets my son and I caught and I can’t wait to cook some. We caught our limit of rock fish, King salmon, halibut, and ling cod. The truly outstanding thing Cascade Creek Lodge gets right is the attention to detail and logistics of making the guests stay hassle free. From the moment they pick you up from the airport to the moment you pick up your labeled flash frozen fillets at Sitka airport all the Ts are crossed and the i’s are dotted. With so many moving parts on an excursion like this one would think an occasional hiccup might occur; it didn’t. Book now you will thank yourself later. John
