The stay at the Melia Sitges I booked through ******* was more than disappointing. It’s rated 4 star on ******* and the place was filthy. When I checked in I was given a room that had been smoked in. As I was about to call desk the cleaning staff came in with an air filter. I’m asthmatic and that’s not gonna get that musty smoke filled smell out in time in order to avoid a crisis. So the front desk changed my room. In the new room I hadn’t noticed the air conditioning vent when I entered room. But in the morning in noticed there was what appeared to be black mold/mildew on and around vents and also on the shower ceiling. I reported it to management and she assured me it would be rectified. Vent was replaced and cleaned. However, when I went to take shower later, in order to keep my balance, I leaned on wall with dark tile and discovered the dark tile wall was also filthy with what appeared to be mold/mildew that got on my hand. Do they think at Melia just because the tile is dark you they have to clean it? Do I have to specify everything that needs to be cleaned? The place is disgusting… all the hallway carpets are filthy and stained.... If you can’t clean the stain replace the carpet!!!
