I booked the Deluxe Double Room and am surprised by some of the reviews complaining of hygiene issues, as the room and the bathroom were impeccably clean. Bed was comfortable, shower was excellent. Room (on the top floor) was large, had a view and was quiet. USB charger for phone useful. Amenities are basic, there's no mini-bar and the TV is huge but all instructions (and as far as I could tell, programmes) are in Chinese only.
As a foreigner with no Putonghua, communication with the staff wasn't always easy as I only encountered 2 people who spoke any English. So it's important to make sure you have things printed out in Chinese or have a translation app. The staff were certainly willing to help and were able to book taxis for me, although that sometimes took a little while, so if you need a taxi, leave plenty of time (the lifts can also be slow). Breakfast buffet is totally Chinese and the only coffee is pre-sweetened, so if that's a problem you may want to skip breakfast or bring your own.
The location is close to a metro station so if you're using the metro that's an advantage. I was there to attend a performance at Pingshan Theatre which is 5-10 minutes by taxi but otherwise you'd have to walk - about 1.5 kms and it's tricky to access the hotel on foot as it's on the junction of two main roads which aren't easy to cross. Luckily for me I bumped into friends who gave me a lift back to the hotel after the show, otherwise I'd have had to walk back as it would be difficult to book a taxi without Chinese.
Also, note that although the front desk is on the ground floor, the entrance to the hotel is inside the car park, not facing onto the street. Rooms are on floors 17-19 (restaurant on the rooftop, accessed by stairs only from 19/F).
To sum up: the hotel was extremely good value for money and the room was fine, but Pingshan is not an international area and travellers who don't speak or write Chinese need to be well prepared.
