Having never stayed in a Travelodge before I wasn't too sure what to expect as I knew it was going to be quite "budget". The hotel is a short drive from the City Centre and I opted for this Travelodge over the more central options because it was a little more out of the way (which I just prefer). Check in is very quick and easy. The lady on reception was training a new member of staff and was polite and courteous and asked if I minded her showing her colleague what to do whilst she checked me in. The hotel itself is very very basic. It is no frills, no perks, nothing special at all and you're well aware of that upfront. But the reception area and communal hallways are clean. The rooms doors are opened by an actual key in a keyhole, which for hotels is pretty archaic nowadays but no issue. My room was a good size, plenty of room and clean. But again, very basic. It did however have absolutely everything I would need to have a comfortable place to sleep overnight. Fresh towels, extra pillows and the bed and bathroom had clearly been cleaned and changed properly between guests. There was a television, a small armchair and a kettle with tea and coffee in the room along with a dressing table and chair. Other than that, what more do you need? There is a petrol station on site which is a ten second walk across the car park and although it didn't stock everything I thought it might when I walked across, there is enough in there to tie you over on food, drink and snacks overnight as there is no restaurant in this hotel or anywhere around it (if you're not looking to leave the site). A mini fridge in the room due to the lack of food in the hotel would be a good idea, so people can at least keep sandwiches or chilled snacks cold? Breakfast is offered in a box to go with a cereal bar, cereal, milk carton etc... which although paid for by my company, I didn't bother with in the end so can't comment on that but it's certainly better than nothing at all. Can't comment on the car park either as I didn't use it but the staff did ask if I had driven as to make me aware of the parking and how it worked. Bed was comfortable overnight, had no issue getting to sleep. Reading some other reviews I was expecting some traffic noise or excessive light pollution from outside, but had no issue with either. Although the hotels bins were emptied by bin men at 4:30am...which I had to check I wasn't dreaming for as I think that's the earliest I've ever known bin men to turn up anywhere...and that did wake me up, but presumably not the fault of the hotel. Other guests I saw seemed to be a mix of people, from business men and women there for the night to people just passing through. No real noise from other guests any more than I have experienced in high end hotels (for the night I stayed at least...). Wifi is £3 for 24 hours and is more than fast enough to stream YouTube videos, do some work online etc which surprised me. I thought it would be a challenge to check your em
