Antietam Guest House is a historic log and stone home in the quiet rural town of Sharpsburg, best known for its proximity to the Antietam National Battlefield, site of the famous Civil War battle. The house has three levels. Sleeping areas are on the first and third level, a total of four separate beds. Happy to answer any questions about the sleeping arrangements. On the bottom level, there is a queen pull out sofa and a twin pull out chair-and-a-half. The Pack 'n Play is usually set up on the landing area. Two baby gates are ready to set at the top or bottom of the stairs to keep your toddlers or dogs safe. The dog fee is $10 per dog per day. No fee for children still in school. The house is one block off Main Street, 4.1 miles from Shepherdstown, West Virginia, 10 miles from Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, and 13 miles from Hagerstown, Maryland. Harpers Ferry is about 14 miles the house. Gettsyburg National Military Park is about one hour from Sharpsburg.The house is within walking distance to casual and fine dining and the famous Nutters Ice Cream Shop. The house is 1.7 miles from the Potomac River and the C&O Canal and towpath. Bikers have an up-hill ride from Snyders Landing to Chapline Street (1.5 miles) and a down-hill coast for the final two blocks to Antietam Guest House.
