Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel

Always happy to return to Renaissance. Big spacious hotel room with great service and good breakfast buffet spread. A small complaint will be full restaurants during breakfast times and took me a few mins to find an empty table twice. Conveniently located with many many food options in the connected mall, leaving me spoilt with choice.

Very convenient near metro station and shopping mall. The shopping mall has many famous restaurants.

Extremely disappointing stay that I did not expect from a Marriott brand. We stayed at Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park for 3 nights and were extremely disappointed with the experience. For a Marriott-branded hotel, the service and comfort were far below expectations. The biggest issue was the temperature in the room. It was unbearably hot throughout our stay, even with the window open, despite the outdoor temperature being around 20°C. When we informed the front desk, we were told that the air conditioning “cannot be changed.” The next day, when we insisted that something was wrong, a maintenance staff member came and told us directly that the air conditioning for the entire hotel is turned off. This should have been communicated to us at check-in. Within just a few minutes of arriving on the first day, we found a strange insect in the bathroom. We phoned the front desk to report it, but the response was incredibly unhelpful. We were put on hold multiple times until they could find someone who could speak English, and when someone finally took our call, they simply said rudely, “Please go to the reception desk.” When my husband went down, the only “solution” offered was to move us to a higher floor, which did nothing to resolve the underlying issues. On the other hand, the concierge desk was very helpful and efficient. Overall, the service lacked professionalism and warmth, and the room conditions made the stay uncomfortable. I genuinely cannot believe this property carries the Marriott name. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel.

Check In was quite slow, compared to similar hotels. But staff was friendly and could speak English as well. Rooms were okay, view in daytime okay but way more nice at night. Pool and Sauna was good, Fitness Club also looked professional and clean. Location is perfect with Line 2,3 &4 nearby plus the huge mall where you can get almost everything!

Good location. Hotel service is good. Downstairs is shopping mall. Room is big and toilets are good
