Sala Beach House

I have never stayed in a hotel where the staff have been so attentive - it was like being with cautious parents at times, in that they checked where we were going when we left and checked again when we got back! But every detail of our stay was taken care of and they couldn’t be helpful enough, including bringing us a simple bread, cheese and fruit meal to our room one evening after a long day’s trip. There are only seven rooms in the hotel; we were in one of the ocean view rooms, and it was huge, so I can only imagine how enormous the two ocean view suites must be! The room has an enormous bed, plenty of storage, bathroom with bath and shower (the latter being the only one of the 8 or so places we have stayed in during our South Africa trip which has both waterfall and hand held shower), one comfortable chair inside the room plus a large verandah with chairs and table. The coffee/tea area is large, with its own small sink, and snacks are provided as well as tea and coffee. The location, right on the beach, is brilliant - we had a lovely hour exploring the beach and tidal pool one afternoon. It is about 2.5km away from two large, very good shopping centres; Ballito itself is further away. There isn’t much in the way of alternative eating options locally, though. For a relaxing break at the beginning or (like us) end of a holiday touring KwaZulu-Natal, I would thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel.

Best location you can imagine. Food and quality of service is just amazing. A super special place. Sala is a high end facility.

Great ambiance, quite private and imitate setting with a cosy vibe. My girlfriend took me for my birthday dinner and was a great choice for date night. Would have liked to see a slightly wider range of food on the menu for top marks. Nice views of the sea in upmarket area
