Lovely hotel, helpful staff. Enjoyed the town fair and short walks around the town. Shame that kitchen had run out of a few items in the menu.

Stayed here overnight whilst attending a family wedding nearby. The room was very clean and facilities were excellent (Standard room) exceeding our expectation. Staff friendly and welcoming and the bar area had lots of seating to relax into. Service at breakfast was slow but when we received our cooked breakfast it was well worth the wait. The ingredients were very good and this was probably one of the best cooked breakfasts we have had in a hotel ! Well done to everyone at the Grosvenor Arms, we will definitely be returning and will find it easy to recommend you to friends & family

I have used the restaurant here over the years. The food has always been very average and the service not very good. My recent visit on the 5th of May 2024 was particularly disappointing. The service was unsatisfactory, the cleanliness of the restaurant and bar was not good at all. The food was below average and a few tables sent their meals back to the kitchen and two groups walked out of the restaurant. Overall, I have given the restaurant and bar the benefit of doubt over the past few years, but the staff and cleanliness has not improved. I will not be returning and shall find another restaurant in the area as my regular when visiting Shaftsbury.

Have made multiple trips to work in Gillingham and always enjoy my overnight stay in Shaftesbury at the Grosvenor and sleep like a log.

Excellent room in a comfortable hotel. there is a courtyard in the centre which would be great in the summer. Staff seem to know what they are doing and were friendly.

Stylish and comfortable rooms. Nice hotel in the centre of town. Good restaurant and bar. Nice a**osphere.

The staff in the hotel are great, from the initial welcome to the service throughout - friendly, not overbearing but attentive. Really good food, amazing breakfast and good selection of drinks (both alcoholic & non-alcoholic) from the bar. Very welcoming to dogs, who can join you in the bar and lounge areas. There is easy and convenient access for the morning / evening constitutional just around the corner. Parking in local car parks is really not a problem, and by using the Just Park app, you can pay for the parking from 08:00 from the comfort of your room (its free from 18:00 to 08:00). All in all, a super place to stay in Shaftesbury.

We always tend to stay here when we visit shaftesbury. The location is nice and central. The rooms are nice, staff friendly and the food is excellent. I would suggest booking directly with the hotel to get the best deal, as they include breakfast in the rate. We ate in the evening here too. Good varied selection,can't fault it. Highly recommend!
