RoofTop Boutique Hotel Adults Only

Sitting or lying on the canopy sun-beds on the Rooftop upper terrace we were surrounded by both luxury and the real Gambia. Above a gentle breeze cooled us and we were surrounded by attractive plants that attracted birds and dragon flies. Below we could observe women cooking, children playing and laden donkey carts making their way along the sand track streets. Our large suite had everything you could possibly need. The king sized bed even had cosy Scandinavian quilts. The air conditioning was effective and the water, from the elaborate shower, was hot and plentiful. The staff, and Urban the owner who we often chatted to at breakfast time, were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was freshly prepared with lots of fruit and yoghurt, fresh baguette with conserves, and eggs cooked to order. A bar is available with reasonably priced drinks. Breakfast is served in the beautiful lower terrace. We spent our first day at Coco Ocean Resort (there is an agreement that Rooftop guests can use the pool and sun-beds) and the second at the Monkey Forest and then the Senegambia *****, both are within walking distance. In the evening we walked to the nearby Neem Tree restaurant where we ate well at exceptionally low prices (meals around D400, beer D120) and were entertained by a good reggae singer one night. A very good alternative to bigger hotels in more touristy parts of town. A truly boutique experience.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Gambia! The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, always going out of their way to make us feel welcome. The owner was also very approachable and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. The rooms were neat, clean, and well-maintained, a refreshing change from the previous 5-star hotel we stayed at, which felt more like a 1-star experience. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach, making it convenient for those looking to enjoy the sea. We are so happy we switched to this hotel. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Gambia!

My stay at the Rooftop Hotel was better than I could’ve imagined! The hotel is located in the residential Kerr Seringe, which made me feel right at home with the local Gambians. The ambiance and hospitality of the hotel including the staff (Fatou & Abdoul) and Owner Urban was 10/10 , They were on hand 24/7. This beautiful gem just kept on giving throughout the week. I will definitely be visiting again soon 😊

Loved our stay at the Rooftop. We were 2 couples staying in 2 x 1 bedroomed suites. Rooms are very unique with comfortable beds and cooking facilities should you wish to use it. The hotel is adults only and strictly private for guests only with 24 hour security. There’s a lovely rooftop area where you can watch the sunrise or sunset. Breakfast is available and plentiful. The owner Urban is always on hand checking that all is ok and is very interesting to talk to. All the staff are so friendly and professional you can tell that they all love their job and have obviously been carefully chosen. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and wouldn’t stay anywhere else if returning. Thank you Urban and team!!

Prior to staying at The rooftop. We stayed in a luxury seafront hotel with a private pool. I was a little reluctant to leave. On arriving at the rooftop my doubts were immediately assuaged. As you pass through the giant cast iron door you are transported to a colonial oasis. Rooms themed on great hotels from around the world...we are staying in Raffles are beyond what you would expect. Attention to detail ,practicality and artistic flair surround you. Yassin and Fattu will look after your every need.Urban the enigmatic Swedish owner is a legend too. Simply one of the most surprisingly delightful rooms we have ever stayed in. BRAVO.

I spent 2 nights at the Rooftop this January while in Banjul with work. No fan of business hotels but also didn't want the resort type option common in Banjul. This was absolutely ideal place. God wifi, flexible management, great breakfast, clear instructions. All good. Urban the owner and all the staff are friendly and really make it a home-from-home. Thoroughly recommended.
