We spent two nights at Migration Camp which is a mobile, tented camp in the Serengeti. The camp was located in the Northern section of the Serengeti at this time of year but it moves according to the migration cycle. We were met at the airstrip by our guide, Peter. We did some gaming en route and arrived in camp for a late afternoon lunch. We also settled into our tent and relaxed during the heat of the afternoon before beginning an afternoon drive at 4:00PM. As noted above, the camp is mobile. However, it has the needed amenities in both its public areas and inside the individual tents. Our tent was well-appointed with a large bed, mosquito netting, an area for hanging clothing and a complete bathroom with a “bucket shower”. This is like any other shower except that the hot water has to be prepared by a tent attendant and put into a supply system feeding the shower and sink. Our tent attendant was Mohamed and he did a great job. During our game rides (one on the afternoon of arrival ; two the following day) , we enjoyed excellent game viewing. While the mass migration had already occurred due to rainfall in the south, we still saw lots of animals. We saw the herd animals (Zebra, Wildebeest and lots of antelope – including Topi) as well as lots of Elephants. There were also many Hyena and we also saw Lions and two Cheetah plus the unusual Bat Eared Fox We enjoyed our time at Migration Camp and want to thank everyone who makes it possible; we know it involves a lot of hard work! We recommend Migration Camp to others.
