Hill View Hotel & Resort

Very poor stay. Rooms are stinky. Whole property is dirty. Steps are very dirty and smells bad. There is no cleaning work carried out in hotel compound. No proper service provided by staff. Hours together nobody in reception to receive call.

Property was fine Food was not according to desired quality location was good facilities were hectic and nuisance

I fully agree with Debdip that the hotel (New building) SHOULD NOT have been booked for tourists. Moreover, the Manager should have clearly informed us about the condition of the new building. I feel short term gains do not help you in the long run. We should be clear and honest in our profession. The food was also not upto the mark. The cook needs more training in cooking quality food. Overall it was not a good experience. But we should admit the location of the hotel is very good and the hotel could have had much better amenities. I am sure I will not check-in that hotel the next time I travel to Jamshedpur.

Recently, we returned from Asanbani, near Jamshedpur, where we lodged at the Hill View Resort. We reserved eight super deluxe rooms and journeyed with a group of 17 members with a few over 60yrs of age. Situated at the foothills of Dalma, the hotel boasts splendid views from every room. Regrettably, we were assigned rooms in a newly constructed building that was far from completion. Despite being labeled as "Super Deluxe" and priced at Rs. 4500+GST, these accommodations lacked basic amenities such as an elevator, in-room phone, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The rooms varied in size and shape, with most being remarkably cramped, offering minimal space beyond the double bed, and only a few had a small balcony. Shockingly, one room lacked a balcony altogether, yet the hotel charged the same super deluxe rate for all. The lack of elevator accessibility posed challenges, particularly for our elderly members, who found navigating the stairs difficult. Moreover, the entire building was littered with dirt and construction debris, rendering the swimming pool unusable due to its dirty water. Despite having informed the manager multiple times about the age composition of our group both before and after booking, our concerns were not addressed transparently. Initially presented with images of spacious rooms in the old building, we were disappointed upon check-in to discover the unfinished state of our accommodations. Subsequently, we learned that the hotel had been fully booked for a wedding ceremony, leaving us with subpar rooms. While some of these issues were acknowledged by the manager during our discussions, no corrective action was taken. Although the hotel staff was friendly, they lacked the necessary professional training to address our basic needs adequately. Nevertheless, they endeavored to accommodate us to the best of their abilities.

We had recently hosted my wedding at Hill view, and we faced a number of challenges from the resort leading up to the event. Nirmallya Sen, the hospitality and project manager who we were interacting with, decided to take complete charge and went all in, to transform the place to ensure that the event with multiple ceremonies spanning across 3 days was a complete success. I tip my hat to Nirmallya and his team who crossed all the barriers and hurdles to ensure that our friends and family who were present had a great time. This included managing accommodation & food for about 80 people coming from different countries with specific requirements for 3 days, different events like Sangeet, Pool Party, wedding gala. This review is for Nirmallya Sen and his team and I give them 5 stars.
