Terrible Experience – This Hotel Doesn’t Deserve Four Stars
I had a truly disappointing stay at this hotel. From the moment we checked in late at night and entered room 496, the problems began. The room looked old and unkempt, with a stuffy atmosphere and an air conditioner that barely worked. Since we arrived late, we tried to bear with it for the night, but things only got worse.
The bathroom and toilet were in separate areas, both looking very old and poorly maintained. There was visible dust, cracks in the sink, and even water leaking in the toilet. The next day, the room felt like a sauna — blowing hot air instead of cold. Although we reported this, the technicians only provided a temporary fix. The room quickly returned to its stuffy, uncomfortable state, and no one followed up.
After insisting, we were moved to another room (room 293), which was a long walk from the main area. Sadly, this room was just as bad. It was gloomy and dim, with non-functioning lights in the bathroom and living area. The lampshades were covered in dust, making it feel more like a set for a horror movie than a hotel room. Even though the aircon worked here, the overall atmosphere was depressing.
To make it worse, the TV in the new room didn’t even offer Netflix — something the previous room had. When I asked the front desk, they casually said, “not all rooms have it.” This shows a lack of standardization and quality control.
I saw the hotel mentioned there will be a renovation plan, but I have some doubts since major renovations can be very costly. It’s hard to know how seriously or soon they’ll follow through, so I’d take those replies with caution. Also, my friend had an allergic reaction during our stay — the room was dusty and disturbed her a lot. She even developed a rash on her hand, so cleanliness seems to be an issue too.
In summary, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Reasons:
The rooms are old and poorly maintained.
Dusty environment — not suitable for those with allergies.
General cleanliness is lacking.
No sign of post-COVID renovations or upkeep.
Breakfast was very limited — many 4-star hotels in KL are far better.
Staff and technicians struggle with English — which can be a challenge if you don’t speak Malay.
I paid for a pleasant, relaxing stay but ended up with a frustrating experience filled with complaints, wasted time, and room changes. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
