Photoshopped photos that in no way reflect the reality of the resort. The staff was rather passive and it was very difficult to communicate in English with them. We were required to pay the full amount upon arrival at reception, right from the first minute. A nasty surprise when we discovered cockroaches in the room (see photos), while a local guide confirmed that this is not normal during the dry season in this region and is more likely due to a lack of cleanliness and maintenance in the hotel. After asking to speak with the manager to find a solution, we had to threaten to request a refund and change hotel immediately before the manager offered us an upgrade. Unfortunately, the new room also had cockroaches. The hotel was fully booked throughout our stay due to a seminar, which even led to an outdoor party on the last evening, with significant noise disturbances from 4 PM to 10 PM. Perhaps the hotel should have considered privatizing the whole place in that case or at least warn in time the other guests about it… The breakfast was not great, the sheets were dirty, the housekeeping left much to be desired with dirty carpet from other rooms left on our table, no safe or phone in the room, not enough hot water for two consecutive showers, doors and windows that didn’t close properly. The staff entered our room at 7 AM without knocking or apologizing, even though we had put the “do not disturb” sign on the door. All these accumulated issues represent many negative points for the price we have paid. Also, be aware that the Wi-Fi connection is very poor throughout the whole hotel. I would still like to point out that the hotel manager expressed regret for our dreadful stay and offered us a discount on our first dinner. We appreciate the kind gesture, but unfortunately it does not make up for all the previously mentioned issues. Long story short, I would recommend you to find something else in the area that will certainly be worth it for the same price!
