Point Sebago Resort

The place changed a lot over the years. The prices skyrocketed and the cleanelessness (sp) changed for the worse. The basic rental smelled bad and there was trash in the woods. I called housekeeping and they were nice enough to spray some industrial strength fragrance to at least make our stay tolerable. The staff I met though were very friendly and helpful! So that’s a bright spot!! I would suggest, unless you have children to entertain, look elsewhere.

VERY poorly kept grounds, duck/geese poop absolutely everywhere on the beach and throughout resort- major sanitary issue especially for littles. Zero internet when it is advertised they have it, everything is poorly managed and parents neglecting their kids not caring what their kids are doing- gross vibes. Had zero July 4th celebration because they did it on July 3?! Teenagers bombing around on golf carts made it hard to go for bike rides and our water got shut off twice because of poorly maintained wells. They recently got purchased by Cove Communities and the money they want for the stay is just pure greed. I’ve been coming here for 20 years on and off and oh how the mighty fall :( Don’t bother. Total rip off!!! I will never return.

After a few years "growing pains" under the new management the Old Point Sebago is coming back with more staff and thus more activities. My family loves our summer trips up there so much we decided to become "annuals" with our own site. The schedule they are putting together for the 2024 season is looking great!

We drove home from our Maine vacation a day early. Point Sebago Resort has great marketing materials, really good resort amenities and poor accommodations. Our 2 bedroom cottage was an old mobile home that was crammed next to another one. Decks & fire pits are in the front yards across from each other. About 10 feet apart from each other-not at all conducive to a quiet evening in nature. The bottom deck stair was broken, the lock required a lot of wiggling, the beds creaked every time you moved and the futon cover was gross. Too many people. Hundreds of cottages and campsites! The inability to reserve kayaks and canoes was disappointing. The young woman who was taking reservations at the marina needs some serious customer service skills training. Not coming back here to stay-expensive for a disappointing experience. Maine, on the other hand, is glorious!

It is a lot better under this management. No more hoards of unsupervised children. Drunk geezers careening around on golf carts is a thing of the past. And talk about a silent night! The boat motion sensor alarms that used to scream all night are no longer allowed. I am so glad I gave them a second chance.My only complaint, and this is not their fault, is that it is too hard to find staff, so there aren’t very many activities. On our early-season stay, we could play pickle ball or cornhole.

Place is horrible now myself and 11 friends were going there for 20 plus years for golf weekend specials when cove took over they got rid of the specials stoped the food and no Moore golf contest after 20 years of loyalty they just said screw you
