42 Apart-Hotel

Unfortunately this hotel is lacking in some areas. On arrival reception staff were friendly and helpful. We entered the room and at first glance it was clean and tidy, but on close inspection there were several issues. The bathroom door doesn’t fit correctly in the frame and would not shut, let alone lock. The shower wasn’t properly cleaned, there was orange mould around the door and the shower head was so blocked, only a few of the sprinklers worked. There were also small red spots of blood on the wall of the bathroom, and a suspicious faded red stain on the white bedding. The telephone didn’t work as there was no power cable attached to it, the kettle had to be plugged in on the floor as the cable wasn’t long enough to reach the plug socket, and the fridge, although handy to have in the room, made booming, grating noises like the bass surround sound of a movie. Pluses for the hotel are that the bed was very big and comfortable.

We were able to check in early after emailing which was appreciated. The hotel was clean and well decorated. The room was large, clean and well facilitated. Positives: The bed was large and comfortable Kettle, drinks tray, toiletries provided Negative: The room was VERY warm (this was explained on arrival but even with windows open and a fan on, it was far too hot) No plug near the kettle so had to move it onto the bedside table. We would stay again as it’s very reasonably priced.

Staying here long term until I get sorted. Lovely big rooom with sofa and a small well kitted out kitchen. Bed is super comfy and have been sleeping very well. Staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. There is an onsite cafe offering excellent food. Breakfast is a available at an extra cost.

Looked good on first impressions, room was very warm and stuffy, no fan or air conditioning, no hairdryer in room, no soundproofing, could hear people vomiting by our window, toilet seat was extremely loose, pillows were beaten up and lumpy, gentleman on reception on check out just wanted us out and not interested in issues, would not stay here again

Excellent location, directly across the street from the venue I was attending. Well appointed spacious room. Walking distance to the train station.

Convenient business hotel, clean and comfortable room, spacious, though I couldn't work out the skylight controls (if that's what the switch just inside the room was? Nice service, friendly staff. Good Indian takeaway (cash only) across the road. Next time (because I would stay there again - good location, good value, easy parking) I'd opt for breakfast elsewhere and think about not having to work in the room as the "desk" space isn't comfortable - that said, there is a 'lounge' area (I think) where you could (and I could have!) set up the laptop.... .
