I don't think the Uhle Hotel meets the official 4 star criteria: * The reception is only open from 8 to 22. The front door even less. * There is no lobby. * There is no real luggage story, and certainly not a safe one. * The mini bar is tricky. The small selection of candy bars and nuts is hidden in the main drawer, and looks like it is for free. The price list is hidden. * There is no room service (I was told I can order food by phone and pick it up in the hotel restaurant.) Check-in was strictly 15h00 in my case. The receptionist is also the owner, who I saw serving in the restaurant and clearing the tables from morning to night. You can imagine the "friendliness" of such an overworked person, and wonder why they have not more personnel. After all, the price level is not cheap, especially the breakfast for €26 is overpriced. The aisle to my dark corner room was freezing cold because a window was open. Probably because there was a stench in my room. The bad smell could have come from the clogged sink, or the dysfunctional shower doors that cause flooding. The room remained too cold all the time (ca 18°C) and there is no individual temperature control in the room. The room door doesn't close automatically, it actually remains a tad open, which I only noticed because there was a windy draft in my room. Could be a security problem. Last not least, I was charged the 5% local hotel tax in addition, although my booking confirmation said it was already included. I'm sure this was just another mistake.

Great location in the old town (aldstadt) Lovely old building with original features. Rooms are well set out with modern features in an old building. Comfortable beds & modern bathroom with toiletries. Room has a TV & coffee machine & fridge. Breakfast is a plated choice (breads, cold meat & pate, cheese, fruit & yoghurt, butter & jams) with options off the menu. The hotel has an excellent restaurant. On request, a car park space can be reserved in the underground garage.

Fantastic service and kind staff. The room and facilities were clean and fresh. The food was good as well. The location is beautiful and central. Walking distance to most things. Needless to say, I will stay here many more times! I will recommend it to my friends and family as well.

This is a lovely hotel and very deceptive from the outside. My husband booked this trip & it didn’t disappoint. Schwerin is a small town, with very cute alleyways and I was unsure of the type of accommodation that would be available. We did have issues with finding parking but eventually used the parking house which charged about €10 per day. The entrance to the hotel itself gives off an old vibe but when we reached our rooms it was completely the opposite. One room had a large entrance hall, and off that the very large bathroom (just with shower) and an equally large bedroom. The other bedroom was more open plan, large and spacious again with a large bathroom containing a bath & separate shower cubicle. The decor was modern & minimalist but practical. It was quiet at night, even with the windows open. The only thing that bothered me was the automatic light that switched on when you had to use the bathroom. The minute you opened the bedroom door into the hallway of the suite, the light went on which lit up the bedroom. Not so good for the other occupant. We did have an issue with the room not being made up on our first morning & staff were apologetic and had our room seen to & replaced our towels. We did not eat at the hotel. But the restaurant looks good. We are already thinking about Christmas markets in Schwerin and hopefully staying in this hotel again.

Had an amazing family gathering here. Rooms were spacious, modern & scrupulously clean. We had the taster menu in the restaurant which was superb. Also had a great meal in the Bistro. Breakfast was huge & very well presented. Staff were friendly & service was impeccable. Hotel is very well located to reach all the main tourist spots in Schwerin . Cannot fault this hotel

Have left a longer review on hotels website but just wanted to say a quick one here. It is an amazing place to stay with great value and great location. The breakfast was amazing. The staff are all very kind, friendly and helpful. Will definitely make a return visit.

For those who are visiting Schwerin this hotel is perfect. Situated in the old town.It has parking on site(at a cost) Rooms are basic but clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good. They have a Michelin restaurant which is a "must"- superb! Staff very helpful. Walking distance to the castle.

Weinhaus Uhle is absolutely delightful. Our family of 5 guests stayed there during a week-long trip to Schwerin, which is a charming city. Perfectly located within walking distance to shopping, dining, the castle, the theater, the museum, and other city sights, the hotel is beautifully maintained. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. The staff is professional and welcoming. And now, the food. Starting with breakfast in the adjacent restaurant, tables were beautifully set and tiered trays presented lovely cheeses, fruits, meats, and jams. The bread basket was exceptional. Coffee was excellent and kept hot and plentiful on the table. We treated ourselves to dinner at the Weinhaus Uhle's Michelin restaurant and we were all overwhelmed by the food and the service. With each course, a surprise from the kitchen delighted us! Each course was gorgeously presented and delicious beyond description. Even the salt was unique. Our family spent four marvelous hours at the beautifully set table and it was the most amazing meal I've ever had. Each dish was uniquely presented, right down to heated and chilled vessels. If you have the opportunity to stay at Weinhaus Uhle, you'll be delighted that you did. We will definitely return!
