Hotel in zona Volksbank-Wald, Schermbeck

During my visit to Gladbeck, Germany in December 2022 for the K-show, our large group had the convenience of traveling with an Indian chef who made our stay at Van der Valk Hotel more comfortable. As we approached the hotel, its serene atmosphere immediately engulfed us, surrounded by nature in every aspect. The rooms were calm and incredibly cozy, allowing us to relax and unwind. Since we had our own chef, we never faced any issues with food. We had the luxury of excellent choices and delicious meals throughout our stay. However, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. Firstly, it was embarrassing that the bathroom in our room didn't have a door. This made it uncomfortable to share the room with colleagues. Additionally, the service desk was frequently unattended, and there was a lack of room service. Even small requests that were communicated to the staff were not fulfilled. Despite these drawbacks, the staff at the counter remained positive and assured us that our needs would be met. However, it seemed to be more talk than action. On a positive note, the rooms and bedding were great, and the heating system worked perfectly. The experience of walking through the hotel's corridors and encountering stairs along the way added a unique touch, possibly due to the hotel's older style and architecture. Germans are strong and wouldn't mind this. but for us poor Indians with a pot belly its a tough one :) Overall, my stay at Van der Valk Hotel in Gladbeck was above average, thanks to the calm and cozy rooms. However, there is room for improvement, particularly in terms of staff responsiveness and fulfilling guest requests. Nonetheless, the serene ambiance of the hotel and its convenient location made it a decent choice for our visit.

Situato al bordo della città di Wesel, con un grande parcheggio, questo bellissimo hotel si trova. L'arrivo era facile e veloce. La mia stanza era situata in un edificio adiacente, al primo piano, sopra un corridoio di catena, da cui non ho notato alcun rumore, e quando ero presente, erano usciti ospiti e uomini d'affari. A confine olandese ci sono circa 45 km e all'aeroporto di Düsseldorf circa 70 km. Ci sono molte possibilità di viaggio. La camera era abbastanza grande e pulita. L'appartamento è adatto ad un hotel di paese. Il bagno con doccia e WC è adatto anche a questo. Ho dormito molto bene. La colazione non lascia aperti desideri. C'era un caffè filtrante molto buono, un caffè crema mi sarebbe stato meglio. Per il bar che ha aperto la sera, purtroppo non posso dire niente. Il personale è molto amichevole.

Abgesehen vom in die Jahre gekommenen Stil (Teppichboden, uraltes Bad, hässlichste Vorhänge) sind die Betten wahnsinnig unbequem und sind mit den furchtbarsten Kopfkissen, die ich je in einem Hotel erleben musste, ausgestattet (knubbelig, viel zu dick). Unerträglich stickig im Zimmer, trotz Lüften. Fenster können wegen Straßenlärm nicht offen gelassen werden - wobei das fast egal ist, denn sie sind so schlecht isoliert, dass man eh, ist man endlich mal eingenickt, vom Rufen der Leute oder Hupen wieder aufwacht. Um dann zusätzlich vom Schnarchen im Nebenzimmer (alle normalen Zimmer scheinen Verbindungstüren zu haben; wer hat den Mist je erfunden?!?) wach gehalten zu werden... Einziges Plus: es ist sauber. Trotzdem: nie wieder!!

Wir kommen mehrmals im Jahr in dieses Hotel. Hier kann nur die volle Punktzahl gegeben werden. Das Hotel ist schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück- nebst Personal- ist wirklich hervorragend. Überhaupt ist das gesamte Personal super freundlich und sehr kompetent. Wir werden gerne wieder kommen. Dankeschön!

Da questo hotel è molto da raggiungere a piedi. Quindi favorevole. Forse bene per chi arriva per mettere un tavolo al rotondo con il nome dell'hotel. L'hotel stesso è meglio trendy, pulito e pulito. La reception è aperta 24 ore. Il bar non offre molto. È un peccato. La combinazione di receptionist e il controllo del bar non è nemmeno utile. La stanza è pulita e pulita. Cosa manca il vetro e le letti di copertura sono sintetiche e quindi troppo calde. Una migliore istruzione per l'aria condizionata/aria condizionata sarebbe utile. Anche le informazioni sulla TV non mi rendeno molto più intelligente. Aprire la finestra durante il sonno significa molto rumore dalla strada. Inoltre, una buona camera di base. La colazione è molto estesa e niente è male. Parcheggio all'interno delle caverne costa 10 euro al giorno inutile e non amica dei clienti. Questa è una buona alternativa per una breve visita a Oberhausen.

Il servizio dell'hotel è buono, l'altro è il centro conveniente

Had a great stay in Moxy Essen from 11/06/2023 – 14/06/2023. I was travelling around the Rhine Ruhr region with my friend (and we both have Marriott Gold elite status from staying in a Marriott for university). This hotel was in a great location right next to the HBF station in Essen and was clean and modern. The bar had a good vibe and we had free drinks on arrival. We used points for this stay, and the way that the points worked out meant that we had 2 different bookings over 3 nights, but this was not an issue and we managed to get the same room for the duration of our stay (we even got a bonus welcome drink for it)! I’m probably not going to do the hotel justice here, but it was a well laid out and stylish hotel with decent sized rooms. We had a twin room to share and the staff made extra effort so that we were on the quieter side of the building. We initially checked into the hotel at approximately 2pm, but decided to spend the afternoon in Wuppertal. When we arrived back on the first night. I had a shower, and there was no shampoo. No big deal, but I ended up going down to reception to ask for some. The man couldn’t find any shampoo, but about half an hour later, some appeared, I think he probably brought I from the shop as it wasn’t in the normal bright pink Moxy bottle, but it was really nice of him to make the effort. That day, the weather hit 32 degrees and whilst we were waiting for the shampoo, we tried to work out how the air conditioning worked. Between me and my friend that I was travelling with, we couldn’t work it out, so we asked the employee. However, between the 3 of us and Google we could not work it out. Anyway, I think we were the only people in the hotel that night as this was approximately midnight local time, and I think we went in every room in the corridor. To try and find one with working air con. All of them were empty! We eventually found one that wasn’t like a sauna and packed our stuff and moved. The employee was genuinely the nicest and most helpful employee I think I have ever seen in a hotel, very apologetic, but also very sociable. It was really nice to meet him as he was so happy to help. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name, but he had a ponytail I think and said he was Turkish. I think he will know who we are when he reads this! I saw him off duty in the bar the next night and thanked him. We even got 2 free breakfasts out of this!! The breakfast was good, though probably not worth the price we were told when we booked (I think it was about 15 euros but can’t remember as I have stayed in about 5 hotels in the past week and they have all rolled into one a bit). There was a few cooked items (Bacon & Scrambled Egg) and a few cold/ cereal items, but not loads. I probably wouldn’t recommend getting breakfast as all the Moxys allow a free coffee/ juice in the morning and a pastry, which is a nice touch. Wir hatten ein schönes Wochenende im Hotel. Angereist sind wir mit 10 Personen, die sich außer der 2 Kinder alle vegan, 2 zusätzlich zuckerfrei, ernähren. Diese Sonderwünsche wurden von der Küche fantastisch umgesetzt. Hervorheben muss man den Service. Alle Menschen, die uns bedient haben, waren außergewöhnlich freundlich, persönlich und hilfsbereit. Hervorheben müssen wir Frau Auerhahn, deren Charme und Freundlichkeit nicht zu überbieten sind. Grundsätzlich ist das Schwimmbad sehr sehr klein, dass sollte man wissen.
