Hotel in zona A Casa do Taberneiro, Santiago

This is my favorite hotel in my favorite city in Spain. The hotel is situated a five minute walk to the Cathedral and the historic area with plenty of great restaurants and other historic sites. The hotel itself is very historical. Getting to the hotel is easy and the hotel has plenty of parking. The hotel staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The Rooms I’ve stayed in are modern and roomy with comfy beds and pillows. Room and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was great. Restaurant and housekeeping staff were very friendly. I try to get to Santiago several times a year and I wouldn’t consider staying at any other hotel.

We were a group of 16 pilgrims walking the Portuguese Camino. We finished our Camino in this albergue for its tranquility. It is up a hill which could be tuff for injured pilgrims but worth it. Out of the chaos of Santiago. We had a meeting in the yard to wrap up our Camino. It was lovely. We had single room which comes with a sink. There is a market downstairs with a cafeteria, lundry and full kitchen.

Ci ha costretto a comunicare per sapere quando ci hanno mandato il codice per entrare, e questo ci ha fatto nervosi perché siamo arrivati dopo mezzanotte. Finalmente l'hanno mandato, ma era sbagliato. Fortunatamente c'è un telefono alla porta e in un secondo l'hanno risolto. C'è un parcheggio a pochi chilometri. Molto vicino al centro e la cattedrale. Ci sono molto comodo, moderno, ci ha toccato quella di disabili in PB Non ha aria condizionata, solo riscaldamento, come abbiamo fatto a marzo non notiamo la mancanza, forse l'estate si sente. Non abbiamo preso colazione. Letti molto comodi, buon wifi, senza pavo ma hanno macchina da caffè pagato in sala. Eravamo solo una notte, era molto buono.

Hotel is in a great location and near all the main tourist areas, and also shops, bars and restaurants. I was very disappointed about the staff at the hotel. On check-in, after waiting about 10 minutes as the receptionist typed on her computer, we eventually got our room keys. Staff were not very welcoming and did not tell us anything about the hotel, facilities, breakfast room or the Pool. When we got to the room, we found that we didnt have a bath-tub (which was why I booked that room), no robe and no slippers. Mini-bar was empty with a sign saying it was closed due to Covid safety. I have no idea what Covid safety has to do with it. No other hotel I was in in Spain has had excuse. Also, no water in the room. No sanitisers in the room either. When I called reception to enquire, she said she would send water up, and then we had to sign to pay 4 Euro for the bottle. Terrible service, how can a hotel not provide water to their guest. This is coming from an expensive 5 star hotel. On checkout it was as bad, but I couldnt wait to leave then. Checkout person had a phone to his ear the whole time, took our key cards, and the continued his call. No receipt, no 'goodbye', nothing. The room itself was very nice, but the sound proofing is absolutely awful. All we could hear each morning was the noise of doors banging, hoovers and we could even hear snoring from the room beside us. So you had no choice but to wake up early with all the noise. Also the air-con is terrible, we left it on the whole time, and the room was still very warm. It was only about 20 degrees outside, so I would hate to stay here in the miiddle of Summer. Total let down of a hotel, I would avoid it. I think alot of 5 star hotels have gotten lazy during Covid, but have no problem charging top prices.

This is one of the hotels that is a one night stay for Trafalgar's ”Treasures of Spain & Portugal” tour, as well as where dinner was held. The dinner was absolutely pathetic and 100% of the group was wondering ”Is this it?” Asking for more salad and bread was met with rejection and asking to turn off the AC was also met with denial. The request for a Fruit Salad for a vegan guest was an unpeeled orange, apple and some grapes. The salad was enough for maybe 6 of the 12 guests/table, the entree was some seafood soup that had 95% potatoes and a tiny fraction of a mussel and shrimp. If you were lucky, you got a few peas also. Be warned. The room itself was okay though many guests complained that the AC was erratic. However, it was clean and functional.

Hotel moderno ,consigliabile,tranquillo,camere molto spaziose,bagno con vasca /doccia ,prima colazione e cena buone,WF ottimo,speriamo di ritornare ancora a Santiago de Compostela.Pochi minuti dal centro. Unico inconveniente la pioggia ma non é colpa dell'Hotel

Chose this hotel for overnight as on outskirts of SDC for easy get away next morning. Situated high on a hill the rooms face the courtyard or the pool/ tennis court, town and busy road. Super easy parking. Decor is a bit 80s time warp, but the hotel has a slightly faded grand hotel layout with sitting areas about, wide corridors and spacious rooms. we took a family room so we had 2 double beds for a bit more space rather than 2 small singles. Due to Covid the room was a bit *****ped down...no kettle, minibar, robes, slippers, notepad etc. Very clean. Got a complimentary bottle wine but no corkscrew to open it. Good basic buffet breakfast with plastic gloves to wear to use buffet. Simón, who checked us in was charming and very helpful giving us all the useful info. Good wifi. Did hear some noise from nearby room with kids going crazy but just a few hours in the evening. Wonderful huge size bath. Great linen and pillows and very comfy bed made for good nights sleep. Would use again. If you want to open windows ask for a room facing the courtyard so there is no road noise. Room service limited hours but came fast and was delicious. Very good value for what we paid and a great night's sleep.

Il personale di ricezione è andato fuori per aiutarci. raccomandando dove andare e come trovare i collegamenti di autobus e treni per arrivarci. aiutato con le tavole di tempo. l'autobus per l'aeroporto e la stazione ferroviaria si ferma fuori dalla porta, Il prezzo per l'adulto è $1, quindi viaggiare è economico e molto facile.Il cibo era di eccellente qualità e quantità. Eravamo a metà tavolo. camera pulita, letto eccellente, nessuna stazione di tv inglese. bella bagno.

Scegli questo hotel come lontano dal centro e dal rumore. L'hotel è una 4 stelle, e un senso internazionale. C'è un parcheggio proprio fuori. Una bella piscina al sole e un buon spa. La camera è molto grande e i letti sono umongosi. Giacche di buona dimensione, mini frigo, bagno grande senza attrezzature.Ha bisogno di un riparazione, ma abbiamo trovato un buon valore per i soldi.Buffet di colazione buono
