Hotel in zona Palacio de Riva-Herrera, Santander

The hotel smelt amazing when you walked in, the staff deal with you on a one to one and there is a class of fizz on arrival. Our room was light and bright, there was a little breakfast section and tea and coffee in the room along with bottles of water everyday. The staff were so helpful and friendly especially the two female staff they literally couldn’t do enough for us. The pool area is only small and the sun beds are very low, but it’s a very pretty, clean and peaceful area when the weather is good. The hotel is in a great spot 5 mins down the road to some amazing bars and restaurants full of locals with a great atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this hotel to couples who want to explore Santander.

Hotel situato in una posizione eccellente, vicino al centro della città dove sono i negozi, ristoranti e la vita notturna e di fronte al mare. Le spiagge sono raggiungibili facilmente anche attraverso bus (fermata di fronte all'hotel). La camera molto carina, pulita, con tutto il necessario. Unica pecca la camera singola è veramente piccola, il bagno invece è ampio e con una bella doccia ma manca il bidet (presente invece nella doppia).

Having stayed six times at this hotel dating back to 2015 we decided to stay again as we wished to be near Sardinero. We have not experienced any of the issues identified by previous reviewers in any of these visits, in fact quite the opposite, the staff were welcoming and the rooms were in decent shape and always large. The price was high but for the luxury of a senior suite I was prepared to pay over the odds. On arrival we were told that no senior suites were available and we had been upgraded to the Imperial Suite. Sounds good, but here the good news ended Issue 1 the whirlpool bath didn’t work. Reported to reception and was quickly attended by the maintenance man who after breaking the tile to access the motor reset fixed the problem! Issue solved - nope. It lasted 20 minutes and then tripped all the electric. On reporting to reception the switch was reset but no whirlpool bath. Ok, we’re not here for the bath and having been offered a move the next day at 12 noon we decided to stick with the room as otherwise it appeared ok. Issue 2, the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine. It wasn’t so warm anyway so we tolerated this. Issue 3, at around 5 am it became clear there was multiple pigeons roosting in the roof space above the bed therefore couldn’t sleep until they stopped making noise. Should have moved but we are quite tolerant. Issue 4, around noon time the noise from the AC was so load we had to trip the electric breaker to stop it. Again we should have moved. Issue 5, on night 2 we were again awake for a significant period because of the lift continually moving even in the middle of the night. Issue 6, on night 3 again the lift was not moving up and down almost constantly. This seems to be the overnight cleaner moving items to the storeroom, and guess where this is, next to our room 601. I politely asked receptionist to ask the cleaner to stop and she said he was going home now so it would be ok. She couldn’t move us as there were no other rooms available. On approaching the hotel director the next morning she was aware of all the issues even knowing that the lift was noisy and kept people from sleeping. I was offered a free breakfast which I refused purely because there is no soap in the toilets and this is being used by waiters and chefs to prepare and serve food. After much argument I was told they would refund me the last night stay, still not received it though. All bored by now no doubt. This hotel had deteriorated badly in the 7 years we have visited. There are so many easy fixes to make it better but nobody seems to care. Lights don’t work - replace bulbs AC noisy - stop it vibrating Bath doesn’t work - either replace the motor or borrow from another room given the Imperial suite is the best room in the house Lift - get an engineer Noise - stop the cleaner working all night making noise No soap - buy soap The list is endless, we won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either. due notti in coppia in questo hotel dove abbiamo trovato quello che ci aspettavamo dalle recensioni che avevamo visto. buon rapporto qualità/prezzo, check in e out semplice e veloce, gentile la receptionist, soddisfacente la pulizia e l'arredo, un pò piccolo il lavandino del bagno ma niente di grave, serve la macchina ma il parcheggio non è un problema. il centro città è a cinque minuti di auto. non c'è frigobar in camera e un solo distributore automatico all'ingresso

A Santander abbiamo scelto più che altro per la posizione, che qui è stata veramente molto felice. Poi avevo chiesto il posto auto, con possibilità della ricarica elettrica, ed ho avuto anche questo. La camera era bella ampia e comoda, con un bel letto ampio e bagno persino dotato di Jacuzzi, che non abbiamo però usato perchè ci sembrava piuttosto vetusta. Il realtà tutto l'edificio pare aver avuto tempi splendenti, magari 40-50 anni prima, perchè l’arredo è di quell’epoca anche se tenuto benissimo. Anche gli ospiti del Hotel ci sono sembrati degli habitué, piuttosto attempati. Avrebbe benissimo potuto essere un Hotel per un film da Woody Allen. Unica nota stonata è il Ristorante. Eravamo stanchi e non volevamo sbattacchiarci nel cercare un ristorante (che abbiamo trovato la sera seguente e non lontano). Cena rigorosamente NON PRIMA delle 20.30, salone vuoto fino alle 21, tranne noi, con un silenzio surreale. Pietanze da menù molto poco accattivante, diciamo che per essere in Spagna avrebbe potuto essere meno turistico. Pazienza. Hotel consigliabile per la posizione, non rientrerà tra i nostri desideri per tornarci ma gradevole per stare un paio di giorni a Santander, città molto bella e meritevole essere visitata.

Hotel imponente e, all’esterno, poco attraente. Vicinissimo alla famosa spiaggia del Sardinero è dotato di camere non ampie ma confortevoli e pulite, recentemente rinnovate. Hall fredda con poltrone e divani consunti o, addirittura, strappati. Prima colazione sontuosa e completa: prodotti salati e dolci, spremute, centrifughe, macedonie...per tutti i gusti ed esigenze. Il ristorante, lievemente sottotono nella location e negli arredi, offre un’ottima cucina classica e locale. Personale cortese e dinamico

Anche se non è nella città di Santander, ci sono molti ristoranti e caffè intorno, quindi è molto vicino. La decorazione è molto pulita e pulita, quindi sono molto soddisfatto, ma il prezzo è un po' costoso. La città è molto vicina, quindi non c'è molto da vedere e è molto lontana dalla stazione ferroviaria, quindi non è bello rimanere a lungo.

Siamo stati colpiti da questo hotel all'arrivo, bellissime aree comuni, parcheggio sul posto (anche se un tad costoso), buona posizione/condizionamento, facile check-in, camera pulita. Ma due cose molto importanti che questo hotel deve ottenere... (1) Il servizio di cena. Aveva un assistente (molto duro) che faceva tutto, il risultato era un v lungo persino per un menu. Non potevamo incolpare lui perché faceva il meglio, ma non potevamo solo mantenere il suo sguardo. Aggiungiamo che il ristorante è fuori in un edificio temporaneo che potrebbe essere bello in estate, ma non era così glamouroso nella pioggia. Ci sorprendeva che il cameriere dovesse continuare a entrare e uscire (in pioggia) per bere bevande e cibo, assolutamente pazzesco.... Specialmente quando ci sono grandi aree all'interno dell'hotel principale non utilizzato. Siamo davvero dispiaciuti per questo tizio e quindi non ordinava starter, più bevande o dessert come era troppo doloroso da guardare. (2) L'acqua calda. Non abbiamo avuto niente, ma non abbastanza buono. Non ci fermeremmo di nuovo qui per le due ragioni sopra, tempo limitato e viaggiare richiede servizio decente e acqua calda come standard.

El hotel está en una ubicación estupenda en Liérganes, es sencillo y funcional, sin grandes lujos, pero limpio y cómodo. El desayuno nos pareció bastante bueno, con algunos productos caseros y aceptable variedad. La atención del personal del hotel es excelente, Aída y Begoña son encantadoras e hicieron que nuestra estancia fuera excepcional. Muy recomendable.
