HOSTAL LA CIGUEÑA

This bar is awful! The noise goes on until the early hours of the morning, 2am, 3am and they don’t give a damn. All the hotels in the area have to suffer the noise from non descript music blasting away. Customers, loud ones, sit on outside walls keeping everyone awake in the area! It should have a curfew at midnight latest!

Myself and my partner go to Portinatx 2/3 times every year and have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions. On this occasion it was a very good experience bar one or two housekeeping issues. I wanted to leave this review particularly due to the great service and bubbliness of Belén who was absolutely fantastic. Literally the happiest and politest staff member i've seen. Thanks for making the experience great.

We have been coming to this hotel since 1999, not every year but very regularly until Covid; this visit was our third postponement and we could not wait! We were welcomed back by the owners and also the hotel staff, many of whom have been there since our very first visit. The proportion of returning guests is exceptionally high and deservedly so. We stayed in a first floor terrace room, always our preference. All the rooms are a very good size and the wardrobe/storage area is the largest we have ever seen, far exceeding that in several four and five star hotels we have stayed in. Also walk-in showers. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the location right on the beach cannot be beaten. We are not beach people but there is a small pool too, though I like the terrace best for sunbathing and people-watching! Residents are on a half board basis, the breakfast buffet is a very good way to start the day, we were welcomed by Loli who we first met back in 1999. She loves her work and was so pleased to see things getting “back to normal”. There is an evening buffet. The standard can vary but you are sure to find something to suit and it is good value. Or for a change try the a la carte menu - the food range has dramatically expanded since our last visit in 2018 as the nearby Chinese restaurant is permanently closed and the chef has joined the team at La Ciguenya. The food quality was excellent; there is a Thai menu, too, as well as the traditional Spanish and international choices such as pizza. The restaurant is also well-used by locals and holidaymakers staying elsewhere. The waiting and bar staff were lovely; Natalia the delightful head waitress has been there for 6 years; she and Kendy are very friendly and were happy to help me with my newly learnt Spanish and so did Loli.

Could ony manage to escape for 4 nights this time but so glad to be back and already checking dates and flights for next time. Asap! Arrived just before noon and were lucky enough that our room was ready. Greater with a big smile by Toñi reception manager, who had us checked in, in no time and later by Leona, the other receptionist/reservationist and then by Loli housekeeper who again gave us the warmest of welcome back! Our room was immaculately clean. We opt for a pool view room, much cooler in the afternoon and evenings. Hotel is set right on the beach and Seaview are available but you get this at the restaurant and beach bar so not on our list of priorities for the room. Room had 2 single beds pushed together, bedside cabinets with side and reading lights. large open wardrobe, ample shelving, a safe and fridge. A hot beverage tray on a unit with large mirror over with hairdryer and chair. Neat shower room with large walk in shower. Patio with table and chairs. Aircon/heating. Meal times excellent. Lovely breakfast everything you could wish for, hot or cold and there is lovely Loli again taking care of everyone. Evening meal is a buffet. A different soup and special daily, a hot and cold buffet. All sorts of food available with the addition of tasty chinese this year! With attentive friendly service from Natalie and Betty. All the owners and staff are lovely, so friendly and helpful. Then a desserts cabinet and ice-cream freezer. You can swap evening meal to a-la carte in the afternoons if you give notice in the morning or evening before. Reception and restaurant are up a set of stairs from the beach but from there there is lift access to all floors. However the beach bar is on ground level open from noon till late serving cold drinks, cocktails and a very good snack menu. You can even charge your food and drinks to your room so you don't have to carry cash for your day on the beach! (But don't forget to tip the staff, they are great there too!) Family owned and run hotel, very hands on helped along by the amazing team! Customers return year after year to this small and friendly spot on a beautiful beach, in a quiet resort perfect for young families and couples.

Realmente acogedor, el personal es muy amable y dispuesto a ayudarte en todo. Te facilitan habitación de cortesia el dia del check out. Tienen un restaurant sencillo però con buen producto. La calidad/precio es de 11/10 porque ha superado las expectativas

Llevamos dos años llendo de vacaciones a este maravilloso HOTEL DE 5 ESTRELLAS SUPERIOR!, ; me dirán " esta loco si es un Hostal", si, si, Hostal, ya les gustaría a muchas cadenas hoteleras hiperfamosas tener la cuarta parte de la calidad que tiene este alojamiento, pero voy por partes. Habitaciones: veis las fotos?, pues son así, grandes,comodas,espaciosas y con una decoración minimalista pero muy modernas, todo está nuevo y perfecto. Comedor: Una pasada, aunque estés en la parte interior puedes ver el mar sin problemas, comida muy buena y de calidad, ah! y muy bien preparada. Piscina: Perfecta para el número de personas que podemos llegar a estar instalados, además tienes un mini-gym por si quieres sudar el alcohol de la noche anterior. Zona de Bar: te gustaría estar en un chiringuito a pie de playa tomándote una pinta a un precio más que razonable o comerte algo rápido sin que te atraquen?, pues este es el bar de la cigüeña y encima por las noches los "cacharros" ( combinados) a un precio más que correcto. Y por último, pero quizás lo más importante, EL PERSONAL: los primeros, los jefes, que son los primeros en dar el callo, el resto, personal de limpieza, de seguridad de mantenimiento, camarer@s,cocineras, todos y perdonar si me olvido alguno todos de 10. Dicho esto, este año volvemos a ir como siempre una semanita, nos gustaría poder ir más días o más veces en el verano, pero... Ya cuento los días por llegar y disfrutar del maravilloso entorno y del espectacular HOSTAL LA CIGÜEÑA.
