Questo hotel si trova in un nuovo quartiere di Johannesburg all'interno di un grosso centro commerciale ed è praticamente collegato direttamente con Mandela square. È la migliore soluzione,anche se costosa, per pernottare in questa città visto che è molto pericoloso girare da soli. Le camere sono spaziosissime, dotate di tutti i conforts ma la cosa che ci ha colpito maggiormente è la colazione che è semplicemente superlativa. Il parcheggio auto è disponibile a pagamento.

I stayed at the Michelangelo for business and it was the perfect location and price. I attended a conference at the Sandton Convention Centre and the Michelangelo Towers was perfect for that. The two bedroom apartment was ideal for our visit.

If there were another Hilton’s in Johannesburg, that is where I’d be staying. But there is no other option for a loyal Hilton guy like me, so I spent 10 nights at the Hilton Sandton. I will readily admit that from day-to-day, the staff and the facilities were absolutely wonderful. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the Executive Lounge was very well serviced, the restaurant was excellent, the hotel grounds superb, the Business Centre efficient. I had pre-arranged airport pickup and daily business rides through the hotel and our driver MORGAN proved himself many times over to be reliable and flexible thoughout my stay. However, both the checkin and checkout process with the Front Desk were distasteful, disturbed my entire stay, and made me wish I was somewhere else. I had reserved and prepaid for a King room; as a long time Diamond member, I naturally expected some sort of upgrade, especially since I was staying for 10 nights. After 18 hours of flights, and a further 24 hours of layover, all I wanted to do was sleep. I had checked in online and knew my room assignment. At the Front Desk, I handed over my American Express Hilton card, and passports for my wife and I to HOWARD (“an experienced Front Office team member” according to hotel General Manager JOHN MCAREE). At first, HOWARD could not find my reservation and, next, once found thought it had been cancelled and, next, thought the reservation was in my wife’s name (it was not), and finally when he found the reservation, took a copy of my wife’s passport (but not my own for some unknown reason). I then had the temerity to ask if there any possibility of an upgrade. “Oh no no no” said Howard. “Why not” I asked. “Because you checked in online. Once the room is assigned, there is no changing it” said HOWARD. I knew from experience this was rubbish and not in compliance with Hilton policy or procedures. Indeed, when I checkedin online, the Hilton website said that an upgrade would be made available if possible. So I gently persisted in my questioning, and Howard gently insisted that no upgrade was possible since I had checked in online. I believe it was only when I asked for the business card of the General Manager that HOWARD checked with a colleague and, indeed, an upgrade was magically offered. It was the lowest level of upgrade possible, but something is better than nothing. I thanked him for the upgrade, and again asked for the GM’s business card. They had none. Indeed, they wrote down his name for me (three times with three different spellings) but did not know his phone # or email address. (I later googled him and got both). Perhaps due to this little interaction, HOWARD forgot to tell me about the Business Centre, the gift shop, the free shuttle to the local mall, hotel restaurant hours, the WIFI code, the hotel spa, or any of the other hotel services. He did mention the Executive Lounge several times in a tone approaching reverence. Never in my 20 years of experience with Hilton

During our recent stay at the hotel, my expectations were unfortunately not met, largely due to what I found to be significant oversights and, at times, concerning behavior from some members of the hotel staff. As someone who has had the privilege of traveling to over 76 countries and has been a guest at numerous top-tier hotels worldwide, I believe I have a comprehensive understanding of the standards that one should anticipate from establishments that pride themselves on excellence in hospitality. The experiences that stood out during my stay were not in line with these standards. From the onset, the reception was less than warm. While I understand that everyone can have an off day, in the hospitality industry, it's paramount to ensure that guests feel welcomed and valued. Regrettably, this was not the impression I received. Further, there were several operational glitches that marred the experience. For instance, our room service orders were either delayed significantly or mixed up on more than one occasion. Additionally, basic amenities that one would expect to be replenished daily, such as toiletries and towels, were often overlooked. These might seem like minor issues in isolation, but when combined, they paint a picture of a system that is not functioning as seamlessly as it should be. Moreover, during our interactions with the hotel staff, there were instances where their behavior left a lot to be desired. Professionalism, in my opinion, extends beyond just performing one's job duties—it encompasses how one communicates, addresses concerns, and ensures that guests are having the best possible experience. On several occasions, when we raised concerns or made requests, the responses we received were either dismissive or lacked the necessary urgency. This was not only surprising but also disheartening, considering the reputation of the hotel. Furthermore, the general ambiance of the hotel did not resonate with the relaxing and refreshing experience one would expect. Whether it was the noise levels in the common areas, the upkeep of the facilities, or the lack of attention to detail in areas such as dining or leisure activities, the overall feel was that of a place that was not operating at its peak potential. Now, I do not write this review with the intention to disparage but to provide feedback that could be constructive. The foundation of the hospitality industry is built on the experiences and feedback of its patrons. While the physical aesthetics of a hotel play a role in its appeal, it's the intangibles—like service quality, staff behavior, and operational efficiency—that truly define a guest's stay. Given my extensive travels and experiences, I found the current state of affairs at this hotel to be notably different from the premier service I've grown accustomed to at other renowned establishments. Molto deluso dopo il nostro soggiorno al DaVinci Hotel. Non vedevo l'ora di soggiornare in questo hotel perché non ero mai stato in questo hotel prima ed era stato sulla mia lista, il check-in è durato piuttosto a lungo, il che inizialmente non mi ha infastidito ma alla fine è diventato un fattore aggravante dopo tutto il resto, noi avevamo prenotato online e ci è voluta quasi un'ora per fare il check-in e dare la chiave della nostra camera, abbiamo usato questa volta per guardarci intorno. Quando finalmente siamo arrivati in camera, abbiamo lasciato tutto velocemente e siamo andati al centro commerciale poi abbiamo cenato, siamo tornati relativamente tardi e solo al ritorno abbiamo notato che il letto era composto da 2 letti singoli uniti, tuttavia abbiamo prenotato e pagato per un camera deluxe king, inutile dire che ho passato tutta la serata a cadere attraverso i 2 letti mentre cercavo di coccolare la mia signora, quindi non ho dormito molto per non dire altro. Quando ci siamo alzati la mattina avevo davvero bisogno di un caffè per svegliarmi dopo la notte che avevo ed ecco, la macchina del caffè non funzionava! A questo punto puoi immaginare la frustrazione. In realtà abbiamo finito per alzarci e partire perché avevamo programmi per la giornata e non ci aspettavamo di aspettare più di un'ora prima che arrivasse la nostra colazione! Anche il cibo freddo che era disponibile al buffet era molto secco, ma l'abbiamo bevuto e siamo andati per la nostra strada, è stato solo mentre stavamo uscendo che il succo che abbiamo ordinato quando siamo arrivati stava iniziando ad arrivare al nostro tavolo , così ci è stata data la bottiglia e siamo andati per la nostra strada Abbiamo menzionato la stanza sbagliata e la macchina del caffè alla signora alla cassa, alla quale sono stato rassicurato che la prossima volta che resteremo sarà bello Posso confermare con molta fiducia che non ci sarà una prossima volta da parte nostra, poiché ci aspettiamo un certo servizio quando effettuiamo il check-in in un hotel a 5 stelle e paghiamo il prezzo che ne deriva Una nota positiva, il concierge è stato disponibile a portare i bagagli in camera Un vero peccato per un posto incantevole e perfettamente posizionato per mettere così poco impegno nella qualità che forniscono

This is an excellent ‘boutique’ hotel with rooms that are very different to standard hotels. Breakfast is excellent and staff are very nice, friendly, helpful and are available to help at any time. Location is convenient. There are a few shops - supermarket, pharmacy and small eateries nearby and the main Sandton area is only a short taxi ride away. Rooms are clean and bathroom is well-equipped. Best of all, I slept very well in a comfortable and quiet bed. All very lovely and I would be happy to go back there

The Leonardo In a class of its own .. We spent four nights at The Leonardo in a two bedroom grand suite. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival to be greeted by warm friendly staff and a beautiful reception area and lounge. The art work throughout the property is stunning and adds to the general feeling of being in a high end establishment. There was initially some mix up with our booking but Penelope was very helpful and made sure that we were able to check in without any delay. After our Moet&Chandon welcome drink we were taken to our well appointed suite which had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The Al La Carte breakfast was very high quality (although slow to arrive at times) and had enough choice for everyone. Presentation was top notch and we left the hotel each morning feeling very satisfied and ready for the days adventures. Overall, this is a gorgeous hotel in an excellent location. It is made even more homely by the attentiveness of the staff who are alway on hand to make sure that no needs go unmet.
