Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Richmond Airport

It’s very funky, but the service is good. This place is literally for construction workers and truck drivers who are taking a break or something. But it’s a decent price and has whatever you need. Best to upgrade to the suite with the couch. You don’t want to be stuck in that little room.

This place needs a good bath. Other Microtels have been bare bones, but clean. I thought I could trust that to be their MO for Wyndham, but I suppose not. I will think twice before staying in another.

The hotel was clean but the breakfast was terrible. My toilet ran so badly that I had to turn it off. Requested a repair or new flapper to no avail. Still had to turn it off on day 2. Bed was comfy, room small but clean. Rates were low.

When I arrived, there were people hanging out in the parking lot, drinking and smoking, even though there was a no smoking sign posted OUTSIDE. The room was terrible! The smell alone caused me to check out but it was tiny, the phone didn’t have a cord, there was no iron, and the TV looked like it was from 1984. There were extension cords all down the hallway and there were people just hanging around in the lobby. I checked out as soon as I saw the room and went to a Hampton Inn almost 25 minutes away just to feel safe. I will admit, the gentleman at the front desk was nice and he even offered me an iron but there was NO way I was staying there. That hotel is in serious need of an upgrade!

I stayed at the hotel for only one night and honestly wish I didn’t have too. I got a non-smoking room and the room smelled horrible. My children were having a hard time sleeping. The TV would not work and had no sound. When I brought my concerns up to the from desk, they acted as if it was normal. Would never stay again.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! If you do, be armed to protect yourself on the walk from your vehicle to your room...I would suggest not utilizing the elevator as it is faulty (door opens/closes randomly and returns to floor). Room was filthy, noisy and unkept. If you partake, you can purchase your drug(s) of choice without leaving the hotel. Room states smoke free...but don't worry, they won't be able to tell based on the multitude of smells already preoccupied. On the plus side, you will become VERY familiar with the flight schedule at Richmond International.

This hotel experience was a nightmare. The place smells like cigarettes , is unclean , and has had no maintenance performed. Whoever is running it should be ashamed. I do not leave reviews like this often but please be aware of pest infestation; there is a high chance of bedbugs in your room. Ours was infested with roaches. I left feeling unclean and unsettled; often pests like these do not make themselves known until after dark. The blankets were scratchy and thin ; not even comforters. Worst of all they were completely covered in stains and cigarette holes. Like ; these blankets were literally garbage and should have been thrown away. How expensive is it to replace comforters ?? The beds were stiff and the pillows barely there. The bathroom had roaches and the sink was stained. No one was ever at the service desk when I was and I had places to be so I could not contact. There was yelling and fighting in the hallways all night and the door would not even properly open. I am not being hyperbolic when I say this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had ; and I travel often for work. Sorry to be so negative but it was truly a nightmare.

The worst experience…. I had to book another hotel to stay because I couldn’t even spend an hour there much less the night

To start, the room they gave us had a broken air conditioning system and the cover for the fan in the bathroom was laying on a shelf. They moved us to another room and even though the air conditioning worked, the TV remote didn't turn the TV on or change the channels, there was a bug in the bathroom, and the dead bolt on the door didn't even lock, and there were kids running and screaming down the hallway at 3am.
