El Pacifico Hotel

My boyfriend and I (from Canada) stayed here for 7 nights. We booked because it was budget friendly and close to amenities. Upon arrival check in was very easy, we were shown where our room was and treated this place like our home during our stay. Our room was clean, we had an air conditioner, but no hot water(although we didn’t even ask about the hot water situation when it didn’t work). After being in the sun all day I didn’t mind rinsing off and washing my hair in cool-ish water. Our package included breakfast which was very good, fresh, and a great way to start the day. Everyday we would go to the front desk and ask for coffee and would bring our coffee to our balcony and enjoy the morning. On a few days we could hear the howler monkeys in the tree behind us, but never seen them. The staff were friendly, it makes me sad to read the other review that the staff weren’t excited to see the guests. There was a language barrier, because we don’t speak Spanish-which is the native language in this country. Communicating was fine-all we had to do was ask for coffee most of the time. Other times with more complex questions the staff would use her translator app which was very convenient. I found out they make chocolate on site when the man that makes the chocolate is in town. I bought a few of their bars and they’re great! We also shared our food with the night security staff that’s on all night long and they were so friendly! We felt safe the whole time we were there. We had a 4 wheeler we rented and when we came home late some nights, the security would jump up and open the gate for us right away. You get what you pay for, so if you’re looking for luxury this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for clean, safe, good location, and a good breakfast to start your day-I highly recommend. I also made a cat friend there who I got into the routine of sharing my cheesies with and who began to greet me when we would get him. I hope the owners didn’t mind! Our money was stolen by the staff! Unfortunately, our stay at El Pacifico was far from ideal. After the first night, we were moved to another hotel within their chain, named "Oro," due to severe water problems in our original room. The water issue was so bad that it was coming up from the bathroom floor. Upon arriving at the new accommodation, we placed our belongings in the room, securely locked the door, and went out for about 2 hours to grab a bite to eat. During this time, we counted the money inside our passports. Upon our return, we discovered that money had been stolen from our bags. This was evident as a note hidden in my passport was inexplicably on the ground. Despite hiding our money in various places, a total of $80 was missing. This experience significantly affected our overall satisfaction with our stay, making it a disappointing one. We immediately noticed the loss of money and reported it to the manager. He assured us that an investigation would be conducted, and we would be kept informed of the progress. However, until the checkout, we heard nothing, and the mystery remained unsolved. Even after expressing our concerns online, we received no response from the hotel. The lack of communication and transparency regarding this issue increased our dissatisfaction. Leaving the hotel without any response or follow-up left us disappointed and unsatisfied. The hotel's lack of responsibility in this situation significantly impacted our experience.

Looked nothing like the pictures. The hotel is not well maintained. They robbed us on San Juan beach and they still charged us the spare key. Would not recommend to a friend or family. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets stained and too old.

Location is not far away from the city center (20 min walk) and the room is clean Too bad the staff is not really friendly (I waited 30 min to give my order for the breakfast and they served the locals before the tourists)

Definitivamente no lo recomiendo, habían almohadas con mal olor, la piscina estaba sucia, la habitación era sin ningún detalle, escaleras super inserguras, el colchón se hundía y las áreas comunes no son como se observan en las fotos. Ah y para empeorar pedimos que nos guardaran unas cervezas en el refrigerador y se perdieron más de la mitad. Lo único bueno es el desayuno y la cercanía al Cristo y Playa.

J'ai été agréablement surpris de la qualité de l'accueil et de la propreté de l'hôtel et de la piscine après avoir lu des critiques négatives sur cet hôtel. Rien de fondé à mon avis. Toutefois l'hôtel est loin du centre et revenir à pied la nuit n'est pas très sécurisant, le restaurant n'étant pas ouvert après le petit déjeuner, on est obligés de sortir pour le souper. Seul point négatif.
