Beautiful small hotel right in the heart of San Jose del Cabo. I love the attractive decor (especially the original art on exhibit), the comfortable guest room (lots of good amenities), the excellent cuisine (sophisticated menu), and of course the location. I’d visited Los Cabos several times before but this was the first time I’d stayed in a hotel that really allowed me to feel like I was in San Jose del Cabo — I loved being able to walk right out the door and stroll one block to be in the town’s main square. Perfect for shopping, dining and enjoying the many art galleries. The hotel also has a spa with great service and even offers yoga sessions. Overall a really great experience.

After a complete renovation lasting 4 years, this stunning property HOTEL TROPICANA re-opened less than a year ago in SAN JOSE DEL CABO to the very highest Hilton standard. It’s immaculate and modern when it needs to be, with restored charm at every turn. It seems like a museum of local sculptors’ art. If you travel alone, especially as a woman as I do, you’ll feel safe and looked after personally. If you prefer historic village charm (SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO), it’s here with plenty of excellent restaurants & high end shopping. There’s a local beach as well as (a half hour away) in CABO SAN LUCAS you’ll find other pristine beaches & dozens of resorts, fine restaurants and tourist services. Cabo San Lucas is massive while San Jose del Cabo is historic, compact & walkable. In CABO SAN LUCAS are tours of the Sea of Cortez including fishing, whale watching (in season) and glass bottom boats. You’ll admire the distinctive features of sea rock formations and desert landscapes of the “cape” (cabo) of Baja California. The Restaurant at the Tropicana Hilton is spectacular and some of the best chefs in the area have been hired. The bar has to be seen to be believed but more importantly CHRISTOPHER the bar & restaurant Manager is VERY charming & ITZEL (one of the top chefs) has assembled a winning menu. Good thing my stay was more than a week so I could try many of the fine entrees. Immediately across the street is the similarly elegant DON SANCHEZ restaurant with soothing live music and a killer seafood menu. Special Note: Tropicana Hilton staff including Primitivo, Daniel & Daniela at Reception are amazing as are Fabian, Citlalli, Hector, Luis, Pressy and others in the restaurant.

This property is absolutely beautiful, and the staff is truly exceptional. Upon checking in, we had the pleasure of meeting Primitivo, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The entire team was not only incredibly attentive to us but also to our six-month-old Pomeranian, who was greeted with his own bed and water bowl — such a thoughtful touch! The Tropicana Restaurant is a must-visit, especially if Roberto is behind the bar. He was kind, professional, and clearly knows his craft. On our first night, we also enjoyed a tasting experience with the manager, Christopher — what a memorable and well-curated evening! We will definitely be returning to this outstanding establishment. This hotel is beautiful small oasis in the middle of San Jose del Cabo. Architecture and interior design are wonderful. Lots of interesting art and sculpture and blooming bougainvillea around. Pool, bar, restaurant are excellent. Courteous and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Very friendly and accommodating. By afternoon had to ask for room makeup twice in 6 days.
