The newly renovated and reimagined Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge was like a fairytale adventure. We booked 3 nights, stayed for 4, and are already planning our trip back. This review is long but there are simply not enough words to describe how amazing it is. The Property: There are gorgeous spaces to enjoy, both indoors and outdoors. Over 90 miles of hiking trails across 7200 private acres with complimentary shuttles for easier access to the 7+ waterfalls on the property; they even give you walkie-talkies for communication - I highly recommend the property tour to see everything all in 1 day. The beautifully landscaped lighted outdoor pool and hot tub area has daybeds, lounge swings, and dining tables that are perfect for morning coffee time, afternoon cool offs, and nighttime soaks. The lodge itself is newly renovated with a beautiful dark wood rum lounge, a light and warm reading room, a coffee and breakfast space, and an airy dining area. Views in every direction for miles look out into sub-tropical pine mountain wilderness. The property is tucked away about 15 minutes down a well maintained dirt road; it took us about 2 hours total to drive from the airport. The lodge provides transportation with all tour bookings so no need to worry about the wear and tear on the rental car during the stay. Endless activities available through their concierge, I could stay 2 weeks and still feel like I missed something. The Accommodations: The property is secluded with 12 cottages, 2 newly built villas, and 1 fire-tower; that are all well spread out, providing ample privacy. We were lucky enough to stay in both a cottage and villa during our visit!! The Estate Cottage had an extended bathroom, a soaking tub complete with bubble bath and local bath salts, an outdoor shower, and a fully-screened porch (furnished with a hammock, dining table, & additional seating that made for a great "office" during our stay). All units come with a wood burning fireplace and large comfortable bed! The ceiling fans were perfect for keeping the room cool. At night we fell asleep to the sounds of wildlife, crackling fire, and overnight rain - it was like a sound machine gone wild - such an unbelievable experience. Perfect blend of cozy and comfort. The 2 new Villas are a modern marvel and reminded us of premium accommodations in the US -including a private deck and plunge pool (hot or cold!) overlooking the mountains, an indoor/outdoor living and dining space, A/C, 3 showers (indoor/outdoor), cloud-like bedding, and a well appointed kitchen. A 2nd lock-out bedroom is available if needed. The units are perfect for those seeking luxury modern amenities during their stay. Decor and design is elegant and tasteful. Great for extended stays! The Food: This was a highlight of our stay. Foodie heaven. Chef Sean Kuylen has created a Belizean culinary experience that alone, is worth a stay. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner menus are thoughtful, creative, and hyper-local (everything
