Hotel Grand Maria

The staff was nice and the hotel was charming looking. I came here because I had to switch hotels from Na Bolom because they didn’t have availability to extend. Anyway, Grand Maria was twice the price which is fine but it was not worth the extra cost. I asked for a quiet room and did not sleep at all in room 201. It’s located next to the lobby and main stairs to all the rooms up top, you can hear talking all night long since your windows open up to the lobby. In addition it’s tiny and stuffy, the curtains and bedspread just need to be thrown away and new ones purchased, they’re old and used. The shower had mildew spots and just needed to be painted. As someone who rents casitas myself, all it needed was new paint and new bed comforters and curtains and it would remove that old grimy used feel. I asked to switch rooms for my second night and the second room had way higher ceiling and was not stuffy at all and lots quieter. I think it’s subjective but I am not a fan of hotels that pipe out music all day and evening long as they do. I would much prefer to sit and read or relax without a soundtrack of music constantly playing. I don’t understand why some hotels do this but it happens all over in Mexico. In a nutshell, I prefer the larger, cleaner, quieter more in tune with nature hotel that I had come from and half the price! Grand Maria was not worth what they’re charging.

I was very disappointed when they trashed the $2000 pesos art i purchased. The only thing they said was “since it was wrapped in newspaper and didn’t weigh much we thought it was trash”. So upset they brought the cleaning lady down, but nothing was resolved the trash pick up was already taken by the city. 😩 The manager was never called and a sorry was all we got. Im sure if we broke something they would of charged us very well.

Lovely hotel, gorgeous atrium and sitting area. Plenty of hot water which was welcome in San Cristóbal in December. The rooms are a bit dark, but cozy. The staff was very helpful, allowed us to store our bags and found us a taxi to our next destination.

Fantastic place and great location. Service is good as well. I am really happy that I stayed there. A couple of blocks for the main street (corridor de Guadalupe) right where the best restaurants and bars are. I totally recommend this place! Love it

Las habitaciones son interiores al patio (Lo único bonito) con poca iluminación, sin armario ni sitio para abrir las maletas. El cuarto de baño pequeño y poca ventilación e iluminación la ducha no es chica pero vieja con cortina de plástico. El televisor pequeño. El restaurante es un bar, el desayuno fatal, el café agua tibia y si quieres otra taza tienes que pagarla. Búscate otro hotel, seguro que por el precio los hay mucho mejores

El hotel muy limpio y comodo. La atencion excelente,todos muy amables. El desayuno es bueno,lo unico malo fue que no habia servicio de comida en el restaurant al medio dia. Las camas muy agusto y limpias. Nos gusto mucho.
