Romantik Hotel Alte Munze

Hotel was beautiful in a very central location. I was updated to a better room when I checked in which was a lovely gesture. Staff were very pleasant and very professional I would have no hesitations staying here again.

Wonderful hotel in an amazing, historical complex of half-timbered buildings. Parking was excellent -- right outside my room -- and the room itself was clean, roomy and very quiet (I was in one of the buildings away from busy Marktstrasse).

We stayed 2 nights during the Weinachten Markt. The best part is walking out of the front door of the hotel and finding yourself right in the middle of the market & literally a few steps from the enchanted forest erected just for the season. The main part of the hotel especially the frontage that faces the market is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a deluxe superior room (Archive) which was in a satellite building in the rear of reception. Although the room was quite spacious and comfortable it was somewhat disappointing as it had zero view and overlooked the breakfast cafeteria like room. Breakfast was extensive & quite good. Would stay again & highly recommended if only for its proximity to the market. Goslar is a beautiful village great for meandering off the beaten path.

Been here several times now, and still I am surprised by the fantastic building. Fantastic location also. Breakfast is enjoyed in the backyard between the old buildings. Sadly, the old bar in the oldest building of the hotel was closed the evening we was there, but we could sit outside in the front of the hotel and enjoy both dinner and drinks, so it was not a big problem. You will find free wifi but no freezer in the room. Parking is directly beside the hotel. I believe we will visit the hotel very soon again.

We’ve booked directly. Reception and staf are very welcoming and polite. We even got a free upgrade to a beautiful room(rheinecke). The restaurant is also very good and the people working there are so very kind. Breakfast is simply superb. Highly recommended if you can afford a little higher price for your stay. (Paid) limited parking available on hotel ground or parking lot 50m away. Don’t forget to ask for the Goslar Guest card, which offer various discounts (even in their own restaurant). Only small noticed mistake: the room was made up perfectly, but the bed was not. For some reason forgotten I think. We did not complain because we did not mind for our 2 day stay.

The rooms in this carefully preserved historic building are furnished and decorated with the u**ost attention to detail, while the bathrooms offer every modern comfort. Their restaurant and bar are inviting, with refined cuisine and select wines, and their personalized service highly appreciated. I hope we can return one day.

We enjoyed our time at the hotel, once we found it. Everything about it is hard to find. We parked and walked, asking people along the way for the hotel. Once we found it, we were given a map to help find the hotel parking, that took another 20 min of confusion. They really should try and make the parking instructions easier. Luckily, our rental car was tiny, because our assigned parking was too. Next, try to find your room. There are several buildings and it took some time to find our room, carrying our bags up steep flights of stairs only to find we were in the wrong building. Once we got settled it was a nice experience. The room was nice, good bathroom, but beware, the shower was very slippery. Nice view out the window, and we got a good nights sleep, the bed felt very clean. Short walk to the city center, very pretty area. The breakfast was very good, served in a modern part of the hotel. Fun experience, but maybe not so good for people with problems walking.

A very warm welcome when we arrived. Mandy our receptionist was very helpful in organising our parking as we arrived in Classic Triumph cars. Our first night included dinner which was perfect and beautifully served in a small private dining room. Breakfast was in the more modern building and had excellent staff who kept the food stock replenished . Loved the bread! Our room was in the main building but as it was edge to edge with the building next door , built that way a long time ago, the ventilation was not too good.there is no air conditioning but we left windows open as wide as possible. Good bathrooms with great Amazon rain shower. Goslar square was steps away. A great location....

This was my first choice but they were originally booked for the night we needed. I am glad I kept checking their availability as I was ultimately able to cancel my other booking and stay here instead. The place was tricky to find at first and I advise that once you start to see the signs pointing the way, follow those signs instead of what your GPS tells you to do. The building is a quaint Goslar-style structure and yet the rooms are modern and equipped with the comforts one wants when traveling. A few minor things to note: the elevator did not stop on our floor (some rooms are in between the elevator stops) so having to cart our bags up a flight of stairs was a little annoying. Also, our room overlooked a main plaza below, which was nice to look at but it was a little noisy at times. Thankfully, the sounds all died down by the time we needed to sleep. The bathroom was great -- spacious, with a real and fully enclosed shower and lots of counter space. The location is very convenient. The little tourist choo-choo train stops right outside the front door, and most of the restaurants, cafes and other things to see and do in Goslar are just steps away. The parking spot was also very convenient. I loved the outdoor patio area for breakfast. Overall, the good far outweighed the bad and I'd definitely stay here again.
