Super friendly staff available 24/7. Nice breakfast too. Right in the middle of Historical Center so great location. Can be a bit loud at night cuz ppl still party by midnight if u come back home early tho

Located in the heart of Pelourinho, this hotel is beautifully decorated and has a lot of charm. The rooms are very clean and spacious and the beds are very comfortable. We loved staying in Villa Bahia because after dark we could walk around the large square in front of the hotel where there are many restaurants. The staff were always superfriendly and very helpful. And the breakfast was as if we were staying with family! Thank you all for a wonderful, memorable stay in Salvador!

The Hotel Villa Bahia reception staff , the breakfast team and the cleaning team were wonderfully helpful, approachable and responsive. The hotel location is perfect for walking to key sites around the oldest part of the city such as Pelourhino and quick access to the Lacerda lift down to the lower town. There are other hotels/pesadas in the area, but we enjoyed the layout of this hotel (access to a small pool and rooftop sunbathinig, lounge to front and back of hotel). We would have liked a bit more variety in the breakfast choice (felt a little limited by day 7) but always fresh and good quality. Our first visit to Salvador (won't be our last either).

This incredibly charming boutique hotel is located inside 2 adjacent mansions dating to the 17th and 18th Centuries, remnants of the Portuguese era. The hotel has 17 rooms, and our room (and all the rooms in the front of the hotel) overlooks the plaza and the Baroque Church of São Francisco (rebuilt in 1686). Each room is named for a place colonized by the Portuguese. The rooms and the whole hotel are renovated to preserve their original spirit. Our room (Mozambique) was very large with a queen-sized bed, 10-foot high ceilings and a large shower. The bed and the linens on it were very comfortable. The hotel has several courtyards, indoor seating areas and a plunge pool. Breakfast, which is included, was very good. This hotel is very reasonable for the quality it offers and is very close to perfect. The location is excellent if you are planning to explore the old part of the city of Salvador—almost everything is within walking distance. The hotel's owner, Bruno Guinard is a Frenchman who has lived in Bahia for over 30 years. The hotel employees are all very helpful and friendly (they also speak English).

The most charming boutique hotel in the heart of Pelourinho! Both the room and bathroom were beautiful and spacious, with a mini fridge, safe (although ours was broken) and large cupboard. The rooms are named after Portuguese explorers rather than the more common room numbers, which was very fitting for the colonial style interiors of the hotel. Staff were so welcoming and very friendly. Breakfast is served at your table - tick sheet menu - and includes various cereals, drinks, bread, cakes as well as Bahian specialties. There is a small plunge pool, which we didn’t get a chance to use. We couldn’t have asked for a better location; we were able to walk through the historic centre, with both the funicular and elevator serving the lower city close by. Lots of eateries and fantastic musical entertainment right outside the hotel - music stops around 10-10.30pm. It is a short walk across the cobblestones to the main Pelourinho square, which pays homage to Michael Jackson who shot a music video there. A (steepish) walk past the church takes you to the rainbow street of San Antonio, with plenty more restaurant/bar options. Would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

This was one of the highlights of my trip! Such a lovely hotel, I stayed there at the beginning and end of my trip in Salvador. It is the perfect boutique hotel in the heart of Pelourinho in Salvador. It is right next door to the Sao Francisco church and a short walk to some of the highlights of Salvador and Pelourinho. The hotel is in the colonial style, with unique rooms each named after a different Portuguese colony. The hotel had beautiful artifacts and touches in each room, making you feel like you're staying at a friend's home in Salvador. I was there in October, which made for very lovely weather during the day and in the evening. There were some tourists, but it wasn't too crowded. A lovely breakfast each morning with items unique to Bahia. Highly, highly recommend. Ana, Javier and all of the staff were super welcoming and helpful, even arranging a ride from the airport for me. I was working remotely from the hotel, and it provided a great, calm space for meetings. There is a small, cute pool in the courtyard as well.

Villa Bahia is a beautiful hotel, in a historical building, smack in the middle of Pelourinho. Its front suites overlooks both the Convento de S. Francisco (IMO, the most beautiful church in Brazil) and the Catedral Basílica. Rooms are large, airy and bright, with very high ceilings, original thick hardwood floors and gorgeous juliette balconies. I have stayed in the “Angola” suite and it was stunningly beautiful, but, to my knowledge, every room is unique and well appointed, with period furniture. Service is very warm and you feel like you’re in an old friend’s (very nice) house. Breakfast is all served on the table (no buffets) and is delicious, with plentiful freshly prepared items, including typical Bahia dishes. Very nice stay, can’t recommend enough.
