What a find! Somewhat randomly booked this place when looking for locations with air-conditioning that wasn't a city hotel and boy were pleasantly surprised. We had booked the family suite, which was perfect for us. Spacious, nicely decorated and practically furnished. On top of the room being spacious there is plenty of common space to use around the hotel/B&B, both inside and outside. There is a relatively small pool outside, but since there are only 5 rooms in total it is more than adequate. The service is the standout. It is super friendly and accommodating and just makes you want to stay and relax for a longer time. We actually tried to extend our stay but unfortunately it was fully booked, so we had to make do with just one day. Adding to the feel is the fact that you just walk into to the kitchen and grab what you want to drink and write it down on your tab. Maybe not the lowest prices but considering how inexpensive the stay it is hard to complain and compared to most big hotels it is still cheap. I'm trying hard to find a flaw but I guess that is closest I can get. :) All in all a wonderful place to do nothing but relax.

I can't say enough good things about this lovely family designed and run small hotel/ chambres d'Hote. Everything is beautifully crafted , mostly from local would, stone etc. A peaceful environment and amazing food - also all local, home made and very special. The rooms have thoughtful detail , comfortable beds and super bathrooms. Greta sleep as so quiet at night, and thoughtful Marie provided a tray to make coffee ready to take back to bed! The spa was very welcome after a 14 K walk, and the pool ( heated) . Loved the pet rabbits hopping around as they kept the grass down. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had a fantastic time at La Scierie, thanks in no small part to our amazing hosts Marie and Mathieu. They have single-handedly created a true paradise out of a sawmill that stood in ruins just a few years ago – don’t miss their photo albums documenting the whole construction process, a veritable miracle involving the whole family! We spend an entire week at La Scierie with our two kids (7 & 10) and used it as a base to relax and explore the Jura region. Countless walks to and around beautiful lakes, exploring caves and nearby forests – there are many activities that will make fans of the outdoors very happy. The hot summer afternoons we spend lazing at the lovely pool of La Scierie – a real treat! La Scierie also spoilt us with a number of culinary highlights – starting from the very generous breakfast to the multi-course dinners lovingly created by Marie, accompanied by lovely Jura wines. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated – comfortable and stylish at the same time. Common areas offer plenty of space for relaxation, be it in the comfy reading corners or over games for all ages on the lower floor. There is even a small spa downstairs with saunas and a whirlpool! I would wholeheartedly recommend this place – was definitely the highlight of our summer this year!

Stayed four nights in early June. We booked based on location and TA reviews, and it completely fulfilled our hopes. The building is lovely, using local timbers and excellent design taste. Hosts couldn't be nicer. Room extremely comfortable. Breakfasts very good: the only issue is you have to order it the night before from a set menu, although obviously a practical system for a small establishment. Table d'hote dinner (unfortunately, we only had one) was delicious. Pool and gardens very relaxing and well maintained. Well located for exploring the Jura area. Easy day trips to Lake/waterfall walking district, route des vins, beautiful villages etc.

Probably one of the best experiences for relaxation and quality time with your partner. Our host has been exceptional, trying to cater every need you have while being unpretentious, authentic and original. The whole design of this boutique hotel, the bedding, the surroundings, the spa are of excellent quality and aesthetics. The dinner menu and breakfast both exceptional. I would highly recommend it, and I will go back again

Juste magnifique ! À tous les niveaux ! Merci à vous. Lieu divin , équipe du tonnerre, chambre top, couchage au top, petit déjeuner tout fait maison …. Et dîner un vrai régal … Tout est bien pensé , dans la maison comme dans l’accueil, le séjour Spa privatif ! Et piscine les deux jours Un petit paradis

Un lieu magnifique, une demeure pensée avec goût, des chambres superbes et un accueil mais un accueil plus qu'exceptionnel. Merci pour cet intermède intemporel entouré de tous les attentions possibles pour que l'on puisse passer ce weekend. On ne reviendra pas pour Salins-Les-Bains mais pour retrouver ce nid ou tout est superbement pensé pour nous. Bravo et encore bravo. Jo et Peggy, les motards de l'Ain

Excellent séjour dans un lieu atypique combinant l’histoire du lieu et la modernité dans la décoration. Très belle table d’hôte ; quant au petit déjeuner juste exceptionnel avec des produits maison. Marie et Mathieu assurent totalement leur rôle avec le sourire en prime.
