We can’t recommend this hotel enough, the views, service and food was all impeccable and we were fortunate enough to stay in the ‘secret suite’ which is simply magical. Shout out to Steph in the restaurant who worked tirelessly with all the guests and was nothing but attentive. A must is the costal walk and the foot ferry to Salcombe. We hope to return one day. From the moment we stepped foot in the door the staff at Gara Rock went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after for the entirety of our stay. A special mention to Adam who had an extension knowledge of all things cocktail, alcohol & food related in the restaurant. He brought us the best amaretto sours we’ve had and made sure our drinks were never empty. Our room was outstanding the views are honestly breathtaking. We were fortunate enough to stay in The Penthouse and the unbroken sea views are a blessing to wake up to in a beautiful four poster bed. The suite was super clean and the attention to detail by housekeeping was fab. Food… Crab to starter steak for main & white chocolate fondant for dessert EXCEPTIONAL. we couldn’t fault a thing. The waitress who unfortunately I don’t remember by name (too many cocktails) was lovely super attentive and made our meal so enjoyable. Spa is stunning we were able to relax on the loungers and enjoy the hot tub which was heated to perfection. Throughout the whole hotel we were greeted by ALL staff from maintenance to restaurant spa & housekeeping going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. Sad to leave but more excited to return. If you’re looking for the perfect couples or family break please do not hesitate to book Gara Rock. Thank you for giving us such a dreamy staycation.

Luxury stay with excellent service, great breakfast and wonderful spa. Electric car charging at 22kwh also v handy. Beautiful sea views from room, dining areas and spa areas. Room was very well equipped but could have done with a chest of drawers for our clothes

Great hotel beautiful location and good standard of food . The hotel is well appointed , furnished to a good standard and feels welcoming and luxurious whilst remaining relaxed . Food is a very good standard breakfast was very good and all cooked to order , dinner in the a la carte was delicious with a well thought out menu , although would benefit from some side order options . Negatives- pillows needed to be seriously upgraded and general service needs work (over 30 minutes for your coffee /drinks at breakfast is far too long ) fix the minors and that will make it as close to perfection as is possible

Hi we stayed in the penthouse and it was WOW WOW WOW!! i have not a single negative comment to say! it was truly fabulous! The staff were all welcoming, location was remote but that is exactly what i wanted! would highly recommend and i would definitely re visit!

Gara Rock Hotel has breathtaking views that are even more stunning in person. The decor throughout the hotel is lovely and thoughtfully designed, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere. We had great customer service and very friendly staff. While food and drinks are on the pricier side, (as you would expect from a four star hotel) it was delicious and beautifully presented. Plus, there’s always the option to explore nearby dining spots. The private cinema room was an added great and unique experience. Our junior suite was bigger than expected and it was also offered at a highly competitive rate, compared to similar accommodations back in Cornwall. Just be a bit weary of the small country roads leading down to the hotel, however, the hotel is proactive about this and prior to your stay provides clear directions for the best route, to avoid unnecessary country roads.
