The Originals Boutique, Hôtel Lakeside, Biscarrosse-Plage

We arrived after a long day of travelling from the Eurotunnel in the late evening. Lisa was happy to see us, and we were upgraded to a room with a private terrace. We dropped off our bags in the James Bond-themed room (loved it) and went straight down to the restaurant for food. The food was absolutely excellent and, during our 2-week stay, we dined there several times to try as much as we could from the menu including bringing our family up for a meal one evening. They have recently opened their Rooftop bar which was a really nice place to relax in the afternoon/evening and soak up the sun. The lake is about a 60-second walk with a small beach you can enjoy and a couple of other bars available for drinks & food. The room was immaculate, you can tell Lisa & Frederic take great pride in ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the hotel & restaurant! The room had air-conditioning which was amazing during the 35-degree temperature throughout our stay. Lisa even surprised us with English teabags and her daughter very kindly made us a 'proper cuppa' after our meal one evening. Some of the staff spoke perfect English with others more than patient with us whilst we muddled our way through in French- teaching each other as we went. The hotel is abit of walk into Parentis-en-born but that meant it was lovely and quiet, we stayed during the 'El Torros' bull run festival weekend and were kindly invited to join the staff one evening and headed into the town where everyone partied the night away. Having read some of the previous reviews on this hotel (namely around the service & food) I can honestly say we didn't experience any issues. The service isn't slow, they want you to enjoy your meal and not feel rushed, if you need something you just wave down one of the team and they will happily assist. The food (we had 6 meals there) was excellent each time, I truly cannot find fault. Lisa, her family and the entire team were amazing throughout our entire staff and really made the 2-week break and relaxing & enjoyable holiday. We're already looking at when we can book for next year! (we're told they are aiming for a swimming pool soon as well!)

Each room has a different theme. Mine was Alice in Wonderland. Very fun after a long day on the road. Walk along the lake, dinner nearby. Perfect. Breakfast was fine--I don't think the eggs were real but there were other options. Free parking and internet. Fit our needs. Folks were friendly.

Un séjour Wonderbox 2 nuitées avec petit dej et diners qui s'est très bien déroulé. Chambre agreable et propre, personnel très sympa, petit dej et diners très satisfaisants. Proche lac et pistes cyclables qui évitent de prendre la voiture pour aller se balader.

Séjour Wonderbox repas nuit p'ti dej pour 2pers à l'hôtel restaurant LIKESIDE Parentis en Born (40). Endroit paisible, proche du lac, des villes de Biscarrosse ville, plage, Mimizan, etc... Accueil chaleureux, convivial à la réception. Restaurant rénové dernièrement avec un très bon goût. Repas du soir, EXCELLENT et TRES COPIEUX, de l'entrée au dessert. Une serveuse cordiale, souriante, sympathique, qui n'hésite à venir voir ses clients pour leur demander si tout va bien. Chambre n°7 "à la plage" belle déco, cocooning, très agréable et bien équipée. Propreté irréprochable. Literie TOP QUALITE, matelas super confortable, draps, oreillers propres et douillets. SDB privative, rien à redire. Le lendemain, un p'ti dej buffet à volonté très varié et copieux (salé et sucré) Tout était PARFAIT. Que du positif pour cet établissement. Votre équipe est digne du professionnalisme. Dit is echt het onvriendelijkste hotel waar ik ooit ben geweest. We hadden een kamer waarvan de entree aan de buitenkant zat. Het hotel stond in een bos en bevond zich dichtbij een meer. De combinatie van een wit hotel in de bossen, vlakbij een meer, met spots op de deuren en het hotel zelf, maakte het zwart van de muggen. We schrokken ons kapot en haastten ons direct naar de receptie. De eigenaar/manager zei echter: "Het is niet gek dat er muggen zijn in een bos met een meer in de buurt." Hij wilde geen andere kamer aanbieden, omdat hij dan niets meer met onze kamer kon. Toen vroeg ik hem: "Is dit jullie serviceniveau naar een klant?" Waarop hij antwoordde: "Jij hebt gekozen voor een grotere kamer, die heb je nu, en je moet gewoon even snel naar binnen." Dit gesprek heeft nog best lang geduurd. Uiteindelijk kwamen we er niet uit en zei hij dat het hotel ineens vol was, terwijl ik gewoon nog een kamer kon reserveren. We hebben uiteindelijk met onze zoon van 8 de kamer betreed en geen oog dichtgedaan. De volgende dag zijn we vertrokken, terwijl we eigenlijk nog een nacht zouden blijven. En naast het verhaal van de muggen ruikt de kamer naar vocht, wat niet best is, en de schimmel staat tussen de douchetegels. Dus als je dit leest, bedenk dan heel goed of je dit wilt aangaan.
