It’s a nice 18th century house. Good place to relax and the owner is helpful and friendly.

This is an absolute ‘jewel in the crown’ surrounded by parkland a donkey and a goat! The owners have been there 120years and all the rooms are individually decorated and are charming. The staff are so helpful and it was a great place to stop for a night or two en route the the ferry to uk. Can’t wait to return!

Lovely very old home. Owner was very nice. Set in a beautiful location. Beds and bed linen need to be updated. Water in bath and shower very hot. Excellent location for base to explore the area of France

This looks, from the outside like a run down chateau and you think …hmmm, are you sure? The answer is yes. This was a real gem of a find. All original fixtures and decor, loads of character and the loveliest hosts. Shower was great - we were in the Mekong room. breakfast was fantastic! They love dogs - I think we were the only people without one, great space to run them around before a journey. Highly recommend if you want a quirky French stay with bags of character and fabulous hosts

Two of us and one dog travelling from the Biarritz to Calais. We could not have found a more welcoming, friendly, accommodating, lovely place to stay. Fabulous home, excellent service. Highly recommend.

This is a great stopover on route to Calais or return journey to Dordogne. Our room was clean and had extras such as bottles of water, tea/coffee, shower gel etc. Nice fresh flowers in room. Slightly dated but facilities all worked well, lovely power shower, fluffy towels plus dressing gowns. Our dog Teddy( large Goldendoodle) was welcome and our room had a side exit which was great for letting him out into the grounds which are beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was excellent, fresh croissants, great coffee, fresh fruits. Overall a really good stay in a place that is not run of the mill or corporate. Owner family very welcoming and hospitable.

We stayed at Chatenay during a road trip through France. We arrived late in the evening having driven there for half the day and found a welcoming and efficient reception to see to all our needs. We were very tired and everyone was bedded and sleeping comfortably within the hour. Breakfast was plentiful, served in a quaint and beautiful dining room with large portions and a variety of pastries, fresh juice and coffee enough to wake up even the sleepiest driver. The staff and owner were accommodating, friendly and we’re happy to advise us on our next steps. A wonderful experience!

Domaine de Chatenay was recommended to us by a friend. We stayed for a week It is the perfect location for peace and tranquillity, but it is also very convenient to Le Mans. Benoît and everyone at Chatenay, made us so welcome. We are back in Ireland, feeling refreshed and relaxed, after a wonderful stay. This is truly a hidden gem.

Traditional French hospitality at its best, the Domain has real character, the rooms are a trip back in time yet very comfortable, the Hosts are very attentive and personable and the breakfast is superb. And as always, got a great night’s sleep in a most relaxing environment.

This is a lovely location, accessed by a long tree lined drive and set in its own quiet grounds. Our room was well appointed and decorated in a traditional French style. The logis is a mansion of a certain age and the whole feeling was a of a glorious faded grandeur. Very much to our taste. The breakfast was superb and good value. Lots of good pastries and a choice of cheese and meat as well as fresh fruit, good coffee and tea, served in a room with high ceiling and calm presence. The grounds are good for a short walk and well appointed. Parking is directly outside the logis and free. The three staff we met were kind and helpful. The building and rooms are secure. Our two disappointments were firstly that we had booked a specific room decorated on an Asian “Mekong” style and this was not the room that we were offered. There was no explanation of this and no apology. As we have travelled extensively in Asia we had been keen on this aspect of our visit and disappointed to that extent. We are also under the impression that whilst we loved our room it was not as splendid or large as the photos we had seen of the Mekong room appeared to be. Secondly, we were reprimanded diplomatically on arrival for not having phoned to say that we would be arriving after 21h. This was not appropriate as we had been sent a form in advance to complete on which we said that we would be arriving after 21h. We were also sent an email from the hotel to state that arrivals should be before 22h. We arrived nearer to 22h than 21h due to heavy fog on our lengthy journey from the Channel. We do not mind being reprimanded when we are in the wrong but it is rude when we are not. We were the only residents that night. The hotel has two buildings and one was clearly closed, presumably to save unnecessary costs and energy. I suspect (I do not know as it was not addressed by the management) that the Mekong room was in that building. A simple explanation would have sufficed. We would however stay here again, and rate the hotel well.

très belle propriété meublée et décorée dans son style originel à l'intérieur d'un beau parc. Hôtesse accueillante, charmante et pleine d'attentions, grande chambre avec une très belle vue sur la propriété. Excellent petit-déjeuner. Un séjour d'exception

1 des endroits les plus calmes où j'ai pû dormir, endroit retiré très typique avec 1 accueil aussi excellent que discret, donnes envi d'y rester plus longtemps....Bien sur les mascottes sont acceptées avec ce parc si grand. Les décorations individuelles des chambres ça donne 1 plus et surtout ça change de l'uniformité des grandes chaines d'hôtel.

Herrenhaus aus dem 18. Jahrhundert mit Stallungen, die in Themenunterkünfte umgebaut wurden. Ein wunderschönes Haus in einer sehr ruhigen und romantischen Gegend. In jeder Ecke findet sich Geschichte wieder und man fühlt sich wie in einem Jane Austen-Roman (selbstverständlich weiß ich, dass deren Inhalt in England "spielt"). Die freundliche Dame des Hauses erklärte uns, dass es das Familienanwesen ihres Mannes ist. Sie ist sehr darauf bedacht, keine Wünsche offen zu lassen und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Die Zimmer sind sauber und bequem. Kleine Aufmerksamkeiten wie Wasser in Flaschen, Teekocher samt diverser Sorten und vieles mehr sind liebevoll arrangiert und erfreuten uns sehr. Es ist alles vorhanden was man benötigt. Man sollte schätzen, dass dieses Haus etwas besonderes ist und es verstehen...........

Une excellente adresse, à 10 mn du Mans, autant pour la beauté des lieux que pour le côté chaleureux de la chambre/suite. L hôtesse est très professionnelle, disponible et réactive. En plus d un excellent rapport qualité-prix mention pour le breakfast !
