Hotel in zona Mini circuit pour Kartings enfants, Saint-Raphaël

The hotel is in a fairly quiet back-street in Saint-Raphael, close to the border with Frejus. It is less than half a kilometre from Saint-Raphael Valescure station and a similar distance from the main beach in Frejus, and the nearby seafront has a very big selection of restaurants, snack bars, ice cream shops and other amenities. The hotel itself is clean, peaceful and has good air conditioning for when the temperature is high (as it was during my stay). Breakfast is included, with a good selection of cereals, bread, croissants, sliced meats etc. I had no problems during my stay, so had no reasons to speak to reception, but each of the receptionists on duty were cheerful and pleasant to speak to. The main door is locked between 12 noon and 3pm, and again after 8pm, but the card which unlocks your room door also unlocks the front door to get in during those times. The only minor criticism that I would make is that there was no wardrobe in my room. However, there was a rack to hang clothes on, and a shelf to store smaller items, so it was possible to keep my clean clothes separate from the ones I had used.

Soggiornato una sola notte. Staff disponibile e una signora parlava anche un po' in italiano. Camere spaziose e pulite ma senza armadio e abbastanza sguarnite. Io viaggiavo in moto e ci hanno lasciato mettere le moto davanti all'hotel che comunque ha un parcheggio gratuito ma puoi accedere solo dopo il ceckin che non viene fatto prima delle 14. Non ho capito perchè avevamo 1 solo asciugamano per il viso e 2 per la doccia (ed eravamo ovviamente in due in camera e non è che uno vuole fare il pretenzioso ma se ho sempre trovato il kit completo però fermandomi solo una notte ho lasciato perdere) In camera c'è la possibilità di farsi il caffè o il te ma ovviamente solo una volta poi le cialde sono da comprare. Dopo una certa ora il bar chiude e ti resta solo una macchinetta a monete sguarnita di tutto. La posizione non è proprio strategica anche le spiagge non sono vicinissime.

Io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo soggiornato 4 giorni presso questa struttura. Senza dubbio un punto di forza è la tranquillità delle camere ben isolate le une dalle altre. Inoltre molto comodo il letto e la presenza di un balcone affacciato sul giardino e lontano dal rumore della strada. Migliorerei la cordialità del personale delle colazioni e del bar esterno in quanto trovo assurdo che pur pagando 11 euro per due caffè e delle mini brioches ci sia stato detto dalla responsabile di sala che non potevamo sederci al tavolo nella sala delle colazioni ma abbiamo dovuto mangiare seduti su uno sgabello di fianco al passaggio delle persone che andavano a fare colazione. Per di più, se avessimo potuto consumare la nostra mini colazione all’interno della sala non avremmo né rubato il tavolo a nessun altro visto che uno di quei tavoli sarebbe dovuto essere riservato a noi in quanto clienti paganti dell’hotel né rubato cibo extra dalla colazione in quando persone educate e non cafone. La colazione completa viene fatta pagare 17 euro a persona e per un paio di giorni a noi non andava di spendere così tanto per poi mangiare solo del cibo dolce (siamo Italiani e non mangiamo bacon, uova, salsicce e insalata a colazione) e la richiesta della mini colazione è stata mal accolta. Inoltre, trovo che il servizio bar sia troppo lento e personale poco qualificato, per un’insalata con tonno e olive ho dovuto aspettare più di mezz’ora. Caffè espresso pagato 3 euro, vergognoso! Ultima nota dolente: pessima conoscenza dell’inglese (forse) e credo che nel personale dell’hotel ci sia poca attitudine verso le altre lingue e la volontà di esprimersi solo in lingua francese. Nota positiva: la ragazza in reception che ci ha salutati al check-out capendo che aveva davanti due italiani e forse anche lei italiana, non si è espressa in francese ma ha utilizzato l’italiano, personalmente molto apprezzato. Capisco che la lingua italiana non sia diffusa per niente nel mondo ma credo necessario usare l’inglese per permettere a clienti che non conoscono il francese di poter capire bene le risposte ad eventuali richieste.

The Hotel cannot have 5 stars: room are too small, the shower was a cement-tube IN the room and the water was going around at each shower. The day restaurant had a ridiculously small menu. We asked for Tomato Penne, and we asked them “ al dente “ and my husband requested an abundant portion. We had been informed that we had to pay a supplement of Eur 12. We were surprised ( it was not truffle..,just tomato pasta ) but we accepted. We had back a dish with the most overcooked pasta , completly broken, we had in our life. They left the same quantity of souces than the regular portion so…the past was almost white instead of red and it had the consistency of mashed potatoes : at the end the pasta was offered because to be honest it was inedible. One day we arrived at breakfast at 9.20 : crepes were finished on the buffet. We asked for them and the answer was…come back tomorrow. The day after , at 8.30 there were not crepes and pancake: probably the food budget were finished! These kind of things normally happen at a 2 star hotel. We left almost 50 Eur at day in tips because people were really very kind even if not always skilled for their job in some case. We spend 8 nights in this hotel and we did a huge mistake. It is ok for a week end not for an holidays. The location was great but even the Hotel’s name was misleading: the hotel Les Roches Rouges is AFTER the red rocks! With a different food offer, different shower arrangement, it can become a nice 4 stars boutique hotel. Currently, is waste of money and …by the way…no Tv in the room …to replicate the 60ies atmosphere…mmmmhh

Quando valuto una struttura parto dal rapporto qualità prezzo che, in questo caso, è assolutamente vincente. Staff perfetto, disponibile, professionale, gentilissimo. Posizione eccellente, in zona molto silenziosa, a meno di dieci minuti a piedi dal mare o due minuti in auto. La camera, nella quale dormire è un piacere per la mancanza di rumori e per il materasso decisamente ottimo, dispone di una piccola cucina attrezzata. Bagno ampio e, finalmente, con un box doccia grande. Wi-fi molto valido. Parcheggio super.
