We arrived on our cycles and received a warm welcome from Claire. The hotel is spotlessly clean with a pool and terrace. We had a delicious dinner as well. We all felt that it was definitely three star not two star as advertised. It represents excellent value for money and offered us, as cyclists, everything we needed.

The hotel at first seems basic, but the rooms are clean and airy. It’s a super quiet location. The lovely swimming pool is a nice addition. The food menu seems quite gourmet and I was sceptical, but it turned out to be very tasty and superbly well cooked and presented. A great meal! Clare is very nice and speaks very good English. We couldn’t fault the place.

I arrived at the hotel with the England Universities Rugby team mid afternoon on the 4th May and from the moment we arrived to when we left Claire and her husband were amazing hosts. Our party of 37 had the hotel fully booked and the facilities were spot on with the pool and grounds providing us with the perfect areas for players and staff to relax. The food was plentiful and delicious and nothing was too much. The afternoon before our game there was a superb banana bread as part of the snacks and it went down a strong with the players. It was so popular that Claire and her husband stayed up late to make more for our match day breakfast. We won our game and again after the match and up to the point we left the hospitality was amazing. The players and staff thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was a perfect place for our preparation and I can’t wait to come back with my family for a holiday here.

Stayed here whilst in the area visiting the Chateau of Hautefort and Lascaux. The rooms are large and immaculate.Smaller bathroom with just a shower and toilet, the shower was fine. Amazing value at £55 per room. The bonus is a beautiful pool and the children really enjoyed their swim. There is a restaurant but it only serves on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and that is not clear from the website. There is a decent supermarket nearby so we had a mini picnic in our room.

We really enjoyed our stay. Claire and Laurent were very good hosts and very kind to our little granddaughters. The food was excellent. Lovely swimming pool and a pretty terrace with views of the countryside.

Room was large , clean and bed was very comfortable.

Excellent accueil, chaleureux et très sympathique. Le lieu est calme, à la campagne. La chambre est très propre, spacieuse. La salle de bain est pratique et fonctionnelle. Tout est parfait. Nous recommandons et nous reviendrons sans hésitation.

Très belle adresse. Un accueil exceptionnel, des hôteliers adorables, serviables, comme on en trouve peu de nos jours. Une mention spéciale pour la table qui était très bonne avec une belle présentation et de bons produits. Recommandé +++

Quel restaurant ! Une halte s'impose.De l'accueil au dessert : rien ne nous laisse indifférent .cuisine goutue, raffinée, délicate, mettant en valeur avec grand talent les produits locaux et ce à prix tout doux..Bravo et Merci .Quelle merveilleuse idée d avoir ouvert un restaurant au sein de l'hôtel Au Périgord Noir. ! ..
