This is our second stay at The Rising Sun and overall it was superb. Our room was lovely with views across to the harbour, a seating area and table . A fridge full of drinks to purchase and a little bottle of milk to complement the tea and coffee . The bathroom was huge and had a huge bath and a lovely waterfall shower with Elemis shampoo, body wash and lotion. The room was lovely and warm but there was a Dyson fan heater if needed. Bed very big and very comfortable . The lounge with its roaring fire was lovely and the staff on the whole were most helpful . Unfortunately the chef we had experienced last year had left and this was noticeable in the quality of food . It was wonderful the first night but the second night we ate here was not so good and we felt rather disappointed . Consistency is the key to success in places like this, so an area for improvement . However it wouldn’t put us off coming again. Although we may not eat here every night . Overall it is a charming place to stay and we love it

We had an amazing two nights stay at The Rising Sun. Absolutely stunning room with two flat screen TVs, coffee machine etc. Bathrobes and Dryrobes in the room. Bed was very comfortable and the toiletries were very nice, big containers rather than small bottles. Food was excellent and breakfast which was included in the price was amazing with a really good choice of cooked food and plenty to self serve as well. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location to explore. We definitely plan to return soon

Myself, my mum and my daughter stayed here for 2 nights and I couldn't fault the hotel. Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful and the food was excellent. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which was lovely. The beds and bedding were so comfortable and lots of extras including dry robes, umbrellas and toiletries. I would 100% come back again and would highly recommend it. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Wonderful stay, beautiful accomodation, every need has been catered for, even ball, doggy 'beer' etc for our pooch. So many little touches that make it feel extra special. Service was excellent and friendly and the breakfasts, Sunday roast and evening meals that we had were all delicious. Such a superb location on the waterfront at beautiful St Mawes.

We had a lovely one night stay at The Rising Sun. Our room was excellent and very cosy,weather was great on Saturday so we sat outside on the patio area for an evening drink. We booked a meal in the restaurant and the food was really good. Our waitress was very helpful, the only downside to our meal was the room we were in was quite cold even though there were two fireplaces (unlit). When we left our table we discovered the front door to the pub was still open, hence the draught! All in all we have no hesitation in recommending The Rising Sun to friends and family and will certainly stay there again!

What a perfectly lovely stay we had to celebrate my birthday . The room was really lovely with the best of everything. The room has its owns fridge stocked with a selection of drinks and a there were snacks which you could purchase by filling out an honesty card . A selection of high quality teas and a coffee machine complete with pods. Fresh milk in the fridge. The bedding was top quality, there were robes and even a dry robe if you fancied a dip in the sea. There were Elemis produces in the bathroom and big fluffy towels . The decoration and furniture was beautiful and we looked out over the harbour . There was a Dyson fan which was very much appreciated and even a trendy bag on the coat hooks for you to take shopping. The food was fantastic ! I can’t really put into words how good it was ! Staff were lovely and friendly. It is a pub so at times it was noisy but that’s to be expected and didn’t detract from our enjoyment. We will definitely be returning .

Great place to stay in St Mawes. Excellent well thought out room (more like a suit with separate sitting area) Two tvs, low level movement activated light in bathroom, big walk in shower, plenty of sockets and mirrors in the right places, free wi fi Good food good choice for breakfast. Option to have a child size full English which was OK for me. Friendly staff. Public car park adjacent the hotel £7 for 24 hours. Would book again without doubt.

We had two nights in this lovely establishment. Stayed in a room with a sea view in the main building with a huge bath and walk in shower. Some lovely touches and quality products, drinks and snacks. Staff were friendly and attentive and breakfast was top class. We also had Sunday Lunch and an evening meal in the restaurant and both were amazing. All in all couldn’t fault anything and would definitely recommend - well deserving of the 5 * review

Another superb stay at a St Austell Brewery property. The decor at the Rising Sun is lovely and the staff are extremely helpful. We stayed in a room in the separate building behind the main pub and had a huge room that was perfect for our needs. So many nice touches and it’s hard to find any faults with this hotel.
