La Baronnie Hôtel & Spa - Teritoria - Ile de Ré

La Baronnie is a beautiful and well-run hotel. Very friendly and welcoming staff who were helpful with local tips and restaturant bookings. Beautiful garden. Spacious and well equipped rooms. Excellent central location in Saint Martin. We would love to stay here again. Thank you!

We had a suite at the top of the hotel with great views over the garden, pool and the rooftops of St Martin; a super room. As usual the breakfasts were excellent; the staff charming and helpful. The hotel is well situated up a quiet street but only a 100m from the bustling port area. Other plusses are the secure carpark where we can also leave our bikes. Our third visit and no doubt we shall return another year.

Very comfy bed in a room full of character. Beautiful surroundings within a 300+ year old hotel building. Sophisticated yet authentic features. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Quiet and peaceful, yet a 30 second walk to the port. Would recommend.

This is a beautiful building right in the heart of St Martin. Lovely large rooms immaculately cleaned and serviced daily to a high standard. Comfy beds and good sound insulation. The hotel has two spacious gardens and two pleasant courtyards. A small slender pool probably large enough for the number of guests, closed off by mid September though. There's an indoor gravity pool as part of the spa - extra charges for this. A good breakfast that still has room for small improvements. Hot food represented by scrambled eggs, flabby bacon and anaemic looking sausages. Mini croissants somewhat cakey in texture and pains au chocolat - I much prefer a larger flaky buttery croissant. Breads cheeses, cold cuts etc. the usual buffet lineup. So why the review title? Despite being four star, the bar is only open from 4:30 pm, run by a barman who would make Eeyore look positively jovial. To get to the bar from the main hotel involves going out through the courtyard, past the pool, through another residential building that includes staff quarters, across another courtyard then finally in to the somewhat pricy bar. Not that we were desperate for booze, but post breakfast not so much as a cup of coffee could be had during the day, let alone a cool beer to sit in the guest lounge or gardens with. No all day kitchen so snacks or light lunches are out of the question too. 4* should do better than this. Friendly helpful staff, the best I have encountered in my travels for a long time.

We had a delightful 3 nights at La Baronnie on our way down to Spain. It is a lovely, peaceful retreat right in the centre of St Martin, away from the August day trippers. The staff were helpful and personable and breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. Would highly recommended.

We passed 2 nights in this GEM, from the moment you arrive, you are welcomed by the staff who escorted us to our so romantic room. Room is beautiful decorated. A good Breakfast at the outdoor terrace, Mr Dominic takes very good care during the breakfast The hotel is ideally located, a faw steps from the port. It has its own private parking, a beautiful spa anf a great bar The owners are very nice peopel We will be back

Our stay at the hotel was truly great! Very clean with attentive staff and a spacious, nicely decorated room. The amenities were excellent, and the location (close to the port) was super convenient. Highly recommend for an enjoyable stay!

Excellent hotel, nice friendly barman, delicious breakfast and very convenient for restuarants and cycling etc. Very friendly reception staff and nothing is too much to ask. Very comfiortable room too. Nice clean swimming pool and the spa is easy to book.

Your hotel is beautiful. Wonderful gardens and a sense of history. The room was clean and tidy, although it was very noisy. Maybe add some noise reduction to the floor above, windows and door? You have some of the finest staff we have met in hospitality. They were welcoming, fun, and made us feel like part of a very happy family. A big thank you to everyone. Sorry about the spelling of your names, but Veronique, you are a star with a very warm heart. Annabelle, you have a wicked sense of humour and speak English like a local!
