Le Mas des Bories - Grand Périgueux

Very rustic and charming hotel outside of Perigueux. We took the 2 rooms with terraces, which unfortuntely couldn't be opened up to share. The rooms were individually decorated: number 8 was bright, light and a bit bigger. Number 9 was decorated in more somber colors and seemed smaller, but with a slightly bigger terrace. Floors were very squeaky, which was an issue when someone was walking in the hallway (it actually sounded like someone was in our room!) The owner had some very nice bottles of cold white wine available; we chose one and enjoyed it on our terrace. We weren't travelling with children but it seemed like a good place to stay with kids, with a large garden and grassy area, plus the pool. You do have to drive through a commercial area (with shops, malls, etc.) to get to the hotel, which is on a main road but faces away from it. So you feel you are in the countryside.

A great hotel. This is style. The old buildings have been renovated with respect and elegance. What a pleasure to arrive to this beautiful hotel after a long and very wet bicycle ride from Bergerac. It was very nice to meet the owners. The foot was excellent. I will give this hotel a very high recommendation.

We liked this guesthouse a lot. The grounds are gorgeous. Breakfast (do ask the price upfront since it's not included and not cheap) is really very good. It's close to the lovely town. The room had a bit of a smell (humidity we thought) but was spacious and comfortable.

A great place to stay. A beautifully restored historic building with lots of parking and an excellent English speaking host ( which is much better than my long forgotten school French). The owner is full of local knowledge and is very helpful

L' accueil, la décoration, le jardin le petit déjeuner tout était parfait, charmant , une sérénité vous enveloppe dès que vous pénétrez dans ce lieu. Qu'une hâte y revenir par beau temps ! Un jeu très amusant découvrir dans toute la décoration les poules....

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits à l'occasion d'un mariage qui se situé au Château des Bories à 800 m de là. Le lieu est absolument magnifique, dans une ancienne bâtisse bordée d'un jardin luxuriant et une piscine très agréable lors des fortes chaleurs. Nous avions réservé une suite junior : chambre et salle d'eau spacieuses. Françoise a préparé un dîner exceptionnel et fait maison, avec des produits frais et de qualité ! Françoise et Pascal sont des hôtes très agréables. Le seul bémol, est que la piscine ne soit pas accessible toute la journée, mais qu'à partir de 14h.
