Highlands Hotel and Bar

Worst place i have ever stayed, should have realised from the dirty entrance, this is not a hotel with a bar its a run down building with disgusting rooms and a noisy bar , luckily we only booked for one night we were kept awake until 4am from loud music and people ,the bass was vibrating through our room, didnt feel like we could go down to complain as everyone in the bar were very drunk and loud so didnt want to risk going down, the room itself had dirty stained bedding ,stained worn towels, there were 4 adults but had no door on the adjoining rooms, 1 tiny toilet and shower, half a toilet roll, no milk coffee only 2 cups ,when we asked for milk and cups we were told help yourself in the breakfast room, we left at 7am without breakfast ,no one around to talk to , and to be honest i would eat anything the chef cooked he was drunk in the bar and looked like he could do with a good wash, avoid this place like the plague, obviously their local drinkers are more important than there paying guests, i wll be demanding a full refund.

Shocking. This place switched from being ok to what the heck overnight. Booked a last minute 2 nighter and the service was good. Waited for late check in and were pleasant and polite. Sunday breakfast could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Room was comfortable enough for a couple of nights although the decoration needs improving and the tiling/flooring in the bathroom requires finishing. Come Monday morning, NO members of staff, NO breakfast, NO reposnse to telephone calls or messages left. I really regretted having paid the balance on the Sunday! We were not the only people who were (being polite) inconvenienced by the shoddy absence of customer service on checkout day. Another guest had not had her breakfast nor indeed had she paid the balance and rightfully left later. So we have an average hotel that is good for a night or two that says it does breakfast and then fails to deliver. Would I return. Absolutely not. Would I recommend you come? Absolutely not. The final decision for me is whether to charge them for my non- breakfast but I doubt they would respond.

Bulding is a bit aged, but in good repair and clean. Room was well presented with tea/coffee/biscuits in the room. Bathroom has obviously had a recent remake. Simon and Gary were both very friendly and helpful. I would definately rtecommend this hotel and if I am back in the area, would stay there again.

We were stranded as our car was locked in a car park and it was 1130pm.All hotels on the seafront were full and we were desperate so my son located this hotel. We phoned them and they said they could accommodate us. We made our way there by foot and the gentleman behind the bar greeted us enthusiastically. He gave us the keys to our room and we were pleased to find 2 double beds and a single bed all made up with clean linen and towels upon. We found it comfortable and very clean. The staff were there in the morning and were also very nice but we didn’t stay for breakfast as we needed to get home. We would like to thank the staff for there welcome if it wasn’t for them we would have spent a very cold night in a bus shelter.Thankyou.

Very welcoming, great hospitality..felt comfortable and homely. Staff were great very helpful and approachable would highly recommend a stay here or even a visit to the bar. 5 star all the way can’t wait to visit Hastings again and stay here again

Its wonderful welcoming entertaining beautiful tranquil and delightful and the rooms are spectacular and the hosts are of the highest standard and everyone within it. It was perfect for me and my wife to be, it made me love her even more
