Hôtel Mir

Good hotel in great location. Baptiste was very friendly and helpful (and spoke good English). Room and facilities were good, although duvet was far too warm even with no heating and window open! Also, it was unfortunate that their restaurant was closed during April.

We had a great stay at Hotel Muir. Very accommodating to our large group of friends. Able to book us an extra night at the end of our stay. Room was very clean & meals at breakfasts had variety and all you can eat. Had a great meal in the hotel restaurant and hotel was close to lots of restaurant choices. Thank you,

Negatives: When I booked I didn't realise that the restaurant was closed. We therefore asked to stay only one night but you wouldn't refund the second night. There were only two restaurants open in the town! It was a very nice pizza restaurant but the next night it was closed and only ONE place was open in the whole town which we didn't like the look of. The Hotel refused to give us plates and cutlery to eat the food we bought in town in our room. (The next hotel we went to also had great reviews for the restaurant but we didn't know that was closed in the evening out of season; they were incredibly helpful and gave us plates and cutlery etc. and let us take our wine glasses up to the room, very good in comparison!) The room was basic considering we had paid for a better room, the bedside tables were upholstered therefore not good for putting a glass on. The view from the balcony was of a very untidy storage area. One of the chairs was broken, we swapped it with one from the next balcony. The rooms and corridors smelt despite air fresheners absolutely everywhere. The lounge was full of furniture and boxes from the kitchen dining area as a refurbishment was underway. Positives: The staff were nice. Breakfast was good.

The hotel service was very attentive and the staff went above and beyond to make the stay beyond hope. The restaurant had a warm and inviting ambiance, and the food was delicious. The hotel offered excellent value for money, and I would highly recommend it to others.

The only negative is that we were only there one night. It was a great location in town, had parking, an elevator, plenty of space in a clean room, a balcony, and a good / varied breakfast. Highly recommend and would return. Staff friendly and helpful.
