Bontempo Village la Yole

Brilliant place. Great pitches, clean. The pool is great, the bar and restaurant are great and sensibly priced. Plenty of clean showers and toilets. There’s a barbecue area, play area and pétanque/boule areas too. The location is good la Mouettes beach - 20 min walk, St Jean de Monts 15 mins drive, St Gille 15 mins drive. Theres a free bus to St Jean de Monts in high season but it isn’t that frequent. Very Family friendly.

Spent the whole month of June here with a group of friends. Great site , good facilities and facilities were always spotlessly clean throughout our stay. Pool lovely and warm and had some great evenings in the bar with live music and dancing. Thierry and his staff go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay, nothing is too much trouble. What’s not to like ??? Hopefully returning again next June for a month

This was our second visit to La Yole. It is a very nice site which is clean, tidy and well presented. Shower blocks were always clean, toilets also. In agreement with some other reviews the site is busy and there are lots of children enjoying their bikes so caution needed when driving. We found the pitches a good size and water and electric well placed for our touring caravan. Most pitches we saw were mown and flat so vans can be manoeuvred easily. Reception staff friendly and helpful and gate security good. Shop well stocked and good selection of everything available. Not too pleased with: Having to use adjacent carpark whilst booking in. Our prior visit it was a big open space to turn around a big caravan. This year, cars parked both sides and turning space reduced at the top so had to mess about to turn round to then drive on to site. Needs a bit of thought! Not keen on the 6 minute shower timed wristbands. You have to be quick, if you have long hair you don’t have time to wash and condition! You are allowed 2 showers a day but just feels a bit authoritarian. Before the eco warriors shout, I do understand the need to economise with water but 6 minutes, really!! All that said, we like the site’s atmosphere and enjoyed our stay.

Lovely campsite, good facilities, friendly service, good food and perfectly located. This was everything we wanted for our summer break and we are hoping to return in the next couple of years. Loved the beach nearby that has a kiosk serving the best fish and chips. Jean de Monts is a very short drive away and is always buzzing with activity. A lovely water theme park (Atlantic Tobbogan) nearby as well. Can’t wait to do this all over again!

We stayed for a week at La Yole just returned yesterday. The approach roads are narrow and uneven throwing our Motorhome all over the place. Pitches large (we had an all service pitch) and well placed. The pool was a bit of a free for all and getting a bed wasn’t an option most days so we gave up. The bar we found charged different prices on each round of drinks even though we were drinking the same and the restaurant area was a in need of a facelift. Shop was stocked quite well but when I went to get bread on our last morning at 7.45 I was told I couldn’t have any until 8am despite all the baguette’s being cooked and out in the rack ready to sell. Our last night we did have a bit of an issue with some men and boys who were playing football right by the side of us in the road and the ball kept hitting our van and going underneath it. They were noisy and it was almost 11pm so wasn’t happy about that. All in all a good site in a lovely area of the Vendee

We have just returned from our two week summer holiday in our touring caravan and the wonderful La Yole site. My partner has stayed at the site on a previous occasion but this was my first visit and I can safely say we will definitely return. The pitches are very generous in size and the site is immaculate. Toilet and shower blocks are checked regularly and very clean. Water in the toilet blocks was warm and hand wash well stocked. The shop on the site is a bit pricey but for Greta for the convenience. You need to be up early if you want to get your hands on fresh pastries without having to leave the site. The pools are again very generous in size and accommodate all age groups. The pool area could do with some more sun beds as on almost ever occasion over the 2 weeks all the sun beds were taken at all times of the day, there’s easily room for more beds so it would be nice to see the space used. The pool lacks shelter and has just a few very small fixed umbrellas making it difficult to find any shade. Unfortunately this limited the amount of time that we could spend at the pool but nonetheless the time spent was very much enjoyed. There is a no balls / food / drink / LILO’s etc rule at the pool and for the most part this was enforced in the mornings, however, on a number of occasions we left the pool because there were groups of people throwing volley balls around in the pool and making it impossible for others to enjoy it. A re shame to see the rules not being enforced by the same lifeguard who earlier the one day stopped a young boy and his dad from throwing a very small ball between each other over a small space in the pool when it was very quiet there. The food at the restaurants “take away” was diabolical. On my partners birthday it was extremely hot so he decided we would get a takeaway from the site instead. We ordered 2 portions of fish and chips which smelt delicious. On getting back to our caravan we opened the food to find the one piece of fish was completely black where it had burnt in the batter. It was inedible and really spoiled by partners birthday evening. This put us off from having any other food from the restaurant during our stay however I will say that it smelt good. The staff at the cafe/restaurant spoke very little English which made it difficult when trying to order anything including paying for ice creams. There is a large play park/area for children of all ages which gets really busy in the evenings, it was lovely to see families using the swings/football area/obstacle course and the laughing and giggling. We will definitely return with our children in the future. The site has companies come in and provide activities for the children such as laser tag and a bouncy castle/inflatable climbing wall. There is also a kids club that runs daily during the week (it may run on the weekend but we didn’t see this). The rubbish area is located opposite the site and has a large number of general waste bins and 3 large recyc
