First impressions count - we were 30 minutes early (difficult to predict traffic in August) but were told to come back at 2:30, rather than sit in the pleasant courtyard and have drink while you wait. Eventual check in was straightforward. The room was very small (but we knew that from previous reviews and were only there for one night) but the curtains were torn as it's impossible to open the windows without opening them and they don't slide without standing on the stool and as there's no A/C you need to open the windows. The bathroom was minute (nose touches the wall while sitting on the loo!) but we'll equipped, especially the shower which was fantastic. Bed was comfortable and linen and towels clean.
**There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room** This was mentioned by a reviewer in 2018 so why they're still listed as being in the room defeats me.
We were given towels, robes and flipflops but then didn't use the pool or spar as swimming shorts are forbidden - that would have been good to know in advance.
Private parking is also mentioned as possible but in reality it's almost impossible to get.
Breakfast was great - good choice of items including cereal, fresh fruit, meat, cheese and boiled eggs as well as breads, croissants and pastries. Everything was replenished promptly.
In summary, a fairly good experience but certainly not a grand hotel spa experience. Great for a night or two but I'd struggle to be there for longer.
